Hey everyone

Can anyone possibly point me to someone or someplace in Pretoria (North) that can assist me in cleaning out my PC case? I used to just blow out the dust myself on my previous build but I thought to rather see if there are any proper PC cleaning services around.

Thanks in advance!

In all honesty, anyone you take it to is just gonna charge you to do what you could do on your own.

I don't think there are any places that specialise in cleaning. Maybe offer it as a service but they'll just blow it out too.

If you don't have time and have money - sure, take it in.

If you do have time, i say just diy it.

There's also the inherint risk that comes with having a stranger handling your stuff etc

If you dont have the tools, and you are in PTA east, just bring it to me and we can quickly blow it out for you. I have a blower, to get rid of most of the dust. No charge.

het jy nog nie n nuwe screen nie?

hy het geadd NORTH :p :D

I used to work as a IT Tech and what we did when we 'cleaned' out pc's was just shove a leaf blower into the pc and blow out the bulk of the dust, then use a paint brush to get the tough bits off.

Tbh taking your pc to any company to clean is a rip-off as it will take 10mins tops, and they charge you as if it's a 3 hour job...

Invest in a small compressor,

I bought one of the cheap Stanley blowers of Takealot, has power settings and has come in handy for cleaning out the garage and under heavy shit I am too lazy to try and move. Works great for getting relatively loose dust out of a case. Baby wipes work wonders for case corners and the paint brush does the rest. :)

I also thought of getting a blower, way easier than a compressor.

It's just a compressor has way more pressure, you don't need a brush or wipes after.

It really depend how clean you want it tbh. Yeah most of pcs I cleaned for friends end just used the blower, just make sure you keep the fans so they don't spin as that will cause some issues.

But when I clean my own case it definitely takes much longer than 10min. Remove everything, then clean case also use some sprays to clean wash filters ens. Then reinstall everything and new Tim where ever possible.

One of my last two cases I purchased here on carb both took about 4h to clean. Cosmos 2 and cosmos c700p. But now they just like new.

I've broken a blade on my cpu fan before, not sure what other damage could be caused by letting the fans spin freely at high velocity.
Ok so don't be a dumbass like this guy...
lower the pressure before cleaning fans etc...

But that is the fun part, blowing them to see how fast they can go.

been doing this for years and no kak.

How do you clean your RIG FRED?
I don't... when my pc get's too dirty/dusty etc I just replace it...
It's not a girl, so there is no benefit to me if it gets dirty...

Petrol station bro, we've all done it. If you are worried their moisture filters aren't working just let the PC stand a bit after before putting power on it again.

Why? Just stick your finger in to stop it from spinning. Before it starts of course. The more pressure the better the clean

Sure it would be worth spending the extra R200 from the other guy who had a immaculate case?

One thing to keep in mind though from all this, is to just be mindful of static buildup due to dust etc when using any blower/vacuum cleaner to clean dust from pc.

Never do it while the pc is on.
And also pray a static discharge doesn't fry anything... (Be mindful of other kinds of discharges as well).

Anal discharge after putting your finger in the fan while it is spinning?
