So I need a mining rig expert whom I can phone for advice regarding mining rigs I want to build. I will only take up about 30 minutes of your time, I just need advice on my build ideas and what the best route would be.

Please pm me your number if you are available, preferably today during lunch.

Cheers

Yeah, not sure you're gonna get free advice, sorry bud.

There's a wealth of information on the forums, but if you need more specific advice, be prepared to pay for it, especially considering mining will make you money.

Its almost like asking Ms Balls for her secret Chutney recipe lol

I realize that but I am hoping someone can help me out of the goodness of their heart. I do not want their settings or secret voltage overclocks etc, I just have an idea for a mining rig and I need to find out if it is feasible or if I should rather split it across more rigs etc.

That's exactly my point, if all the info that some miners knew were public knowledge, everybody would be doing it.

I stay by what I said earlier, if you want proper advice, be prepared to pay for it, expecting somebody to give it to you out of the "goodness of their heart" is silly.

You don't walk into a bank and tell them to give you free money, do you ? ;)

Let me ask it in this thread rather, maybe someone can give me a hint in the right direction.

The situation is as follows : 8 x R9 280X's.

Option 1 : 4 x per rig with riser cables?
Option 2 : 2 x per rig without riser cables?

If option 1 is favoured, are there any disadvantages to mining by using a 4x PCI express slot compared to a 16x PCI express slot?

Why not post what you planning and get advise on the forum directly, this way other may also benefit and can make use of your ideas, the open source spirit

we small fish in the pond, local communities being competitive doesn't make sense to me

I will gladly dish out my experience, because i know that there is no way you being successful hinders me from being successful

Since it is for a business venture I would be willing to pay a fee for advice. I just need someone to step up to the table and drop me a PM.

Option 1.

Idea is ROI, the less you spend on the hardware requirements to run the cards (cpu/ram/board) etc, the quicker you'll make your money back.

Only concern you might have is PSU size and they get pricey as you go up in wattage. Mining barely consumes any pci-e bandwidth, mining on a 4x or 1x slot is perfectly fine.

Just remember, there is a 4 gpu limitation on Windows (due to the AMD driver).

Big difference between an idea that could be worth millions and that's a business opportunity and a technical question.

I have had a 6mh/s mining farm that's been operational for some time, and i have overall tapered down on mining activities to just four rigs that run hassle free.

Knowing i what i know now, I would have rather spent the capital used to buy rigs and cards on buying coins and trading the volatility in the market, you can make way more there than what a farm can produce.

True, but also depends what and when you mine, some of my coins like Unobtanium and Tigercoin just turned really nice profit :), now if only coinex can come online so I can sell them. ;)
