Morning Everyone,

Hope everyone is doing good! As the title suggests, has anyone moved from Vodacom to FNB?

Vodacoms increasing my contract and im not taking an upgrade as to move to FNB on my business plan is R89 opposed to the R398 with Vodacom.

Vodacom tells me one thing then FNB tells me another, next thing I'll lose my number.

Any help is much appreciated :)

Thanks!

My 2c - FNB piggybacks off of Vodacom's network & operates on Cell C effectively (signal coverage is not as great).

So, my mrs is on FNB and has 10x better signal than me constantly. lol

Also, 90% of my clients call on whatsapp now, i only really get SPAM calls since the brilliant POPIA came into play.

What are they telling you?
I've moved the same number from Cell C to Vodacom and then to Telkom.
All I did was DOWNGRADE the number to prepaid before trying to migrate anywhere.

I was going to ask you if it's a business wouldn't it be worth it to pay for better coverage, but you answered that already.

So FNB say i need to cancel the contract then go to them end of the month.

Vodacom said i need to cancel and wait for it to go to prepaid.

Soooo i really dont know :/

Yeah, they using confusing terms. Try asking Vodacom about Downgrading to prepaid, don't tell them you want to port or anything.

Alrighty, il request to get onto prepaid then make the move :)

Thanks so much everyone!

Yea I'm not sure about fnb mobile. I personally didn't enjoy it while I used them. Frequent dropped calls. I will tell you though they still ran off Cell C's network.

If I'm not mistaken they run now on mtn's network.

I've been on FNB mobile for a few years now and I hate it when it comes to cell coverage and I have to put my phone in flight mode and back to normal quite often before it registers on the network. Only reason I am still sticking with them is because of the free minutes and data and data top up is very cheap. I have Vodacom on my work phone, so I dont bother too much with the FNB sim, its just that FNB is for my private phone.
I even did a sim swap thinking that the sim card was faulty, even used in different devices, but he same outcome.
