Seller:
@solz
Buyer: @Thorian
Description of Bad Deal: Multiple issues - Seller did not provide all the items sold even if it is how small, seller-provided a broken charger (Is it a coincidence that that same AC cable was not included?), now he provided a neutral feedback as a grudge (Which is against the rules because I held up my end of the deal) because I left negative feedback & he is using smack talk to defame me (https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?threads/what-yall-think-fair-for-my-red-mark.451670/) If he had an issue he should have opened a thread here and not in smack talk.

So this deal probably started on the 27th of Sep when I messaged the buyer asking how much he wanted if I took all 4 of the laptops he advertised he gave me a price and mentioned 'the problems' (Not all of the issues they had)

I asked him to WhatsApp me and we took it there.

I asked him if the price he gave me is his best and he said it is. I was fine with the price but asked if the courier is included and he said he would think about it and let me know.

On the 29th he replied saying that the X amount given would be including a courier, he sent his banking details and I paid promptly.

On the 4th of October, I received the box with the laptops and started to do some small tests to see if everything was fine (Did not demote all my time to this as I am busy studying and writing an exam next week @Dom would be able to tell how demanding it is to study this qualification so I did not have time to test them 24/7 as I also have a day job)

On the 7th of October, I told him that I think everything is tested but notified him of the AC cable missing. It was not needed to charge any of the laptops because all of them were above 80% charge level when I received them. He said he would look at home for the missing AC cable and I told him no problem. (This was the first issue even though it is small I gave him the benefit of doubt)

On the 11th I asked him for an update on the cable and notified him that 3 of the 4 laptops ran empty on battery life and that they would not charge (It would just say plugged in but would not charge and the battery level also did not drop) but I sorted it out over the weekend of the 9th when I went to an IT guy (@The_N3XUS777 - Also I did not ask him to refund anything to fix this issue again giving the seller the benefit) regarding that specific issue and he sorted it out for me over the weekend (Gave me a call about someone he knows and if I would sell the laptops and told him that I would sell them @ cost what I paid for them but that I want one for myself) and he brought the last one to me on the 11th. I also told him about this laptop the last one and told him there is an issue with that battery. I told him I will send him info about the battery thinking that that was the problem with it and not the charger but I did not have an AC cable for the last charger.

On the 15th I drove 27km to find an AC cable for the charger which took a lot of my personal time and money because the seller did not send an AC cable as promised nor did I ask him to refund me as I did not think it was such a big issue even though it took my time and money for all this. I came home late afternoon and went to plug in the AC cable and just left to study again not worrying about it because it would charge?

Woke up on the 16th of October only to find that the laptop is showing a 6% charger level after like 12 hours of charging and it only shows plugged in. Tried to do what the seller told me to look for in the BIOS but I saw no such option. I restarted it only to get the following error "The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The system will adjust the performance to match the power available." The seller replied that would be the charger that it's not happy with and that I should make sure that I am using a charger he sent with the laptop which I was.

The seller only replies the following day... And that I should send back the charger and that to date is the only remedy he was happy to assist with. On my charges and time again. I told him that I was not happy with that and that it's going to cost me about R100 to send the charger back after Saturday already cost me how much for fuel and R53 for cable and that without the IT guy's expenses that I paid for him to sort out the software issues on the other 3 laptops.

The seller asked me to send him a photo of the charger and I thought I had taken a picture of it and sent him the photo of an HP charger (https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?threads/hp-probook-440-g4-i5-7th-gen.448312/#post-2940113 It was the broken charger for this laptop of mine that I am selling witch I ordered a new one for and the seller almost lost his mind on the smack talk about the photo that I sent of the wrong charger but that was probably my fault) I sent him a photo of the correct one the next morning as I were busy with my studies when I got home and forgot about it but I did still send it. (Not like my AC Cable @solz) So after all of this, I felt that I was not impressed with the service I received - No AC cable included (The seller promised to send it but never did), Small issues with the laptops regarding software (Again I paid for this on my own account and did not expect anything for it), My time and money went into searching for an AC cable to only find out that the charger was faulty. I bought a new charger and the laptop works fine so I don't have problems anymore except for the fact that the seller is defaming me in a smack talk post and left a neutral review in a grudge because he can't stick to his word.

Ok, what is the actual issue? Is it only the battery and the clover cable? Sorry I got a bit lost in there. I know Dell laptops are notorious and very finicky with batteries and chargers, if the laptops are the same try and swop out batteries first to see if it's not a battery issue, otherwise you would have to do a bios update but you would have to change the bios.ini file to skip the battery check sometimes.

I believe if it was a grudge would have done negative rating. So did neutral rating as you didn't want to send charger back so I could inspect and try resolve, but you kept on about the missing AC cable and that it was suppose to be married to the faulty charger he se I didn't include it. Even though chargers and cables where shipped separately in box. So do believe that neutral would be okay as you couldn't state what you wanted as outcome eather but opted to do with negative rating.

So best would be to just share the whole whatsapp conversation. So when required I can share that with a screenshot from delivery till today...

I already bought a new charger because waiting for you is not worth my trouble. My problem is sorted. I bought an AC cable then the charger did not work as stated by the seller. It did charge on the other chargers. I paid for the new charger and the IT guy so I'm sorted.

Never said I wanted anything just to clear my name basically because the seller is making one massive issue about the AC cable witch I asked for twice he said he would send it I never said or ask to refund me or anything and he never offered.

So basically want to find out what his problem is?

So read reading the other thread by @solz He did not send a clover plug cable. @Thorian received the laptops on the 4th and by the 16th you still hadn't sent the clover cable? Why not?

Then after further testing, AC charger was found to be faulty. Thorian went out and bought a new charger.

From all this bullshit I can surmise:

Buyer wouldn't accommodate seller
Seller wouldn't accommodate buyer

So my view is neutral rating both ways, no Bad Deals thread. End of story.

If you are both happy with this @solz @Thorian we can put this to bed and remove both of these shitpost fest threads

He can refund me for the charger and the IT charges because he went a long way to post this stuff in smack talk to create issues with other group members.

I will send the WhatsApp once I export it.

I accept that the clover cable I did not send (forgot the first time and waited when he had an charger issue so I wouldn't have to ship twice), but I would have been still willing to basically pay for it.

Ok, read both versions of the Whatsapp chat. They match up at least. So no foul fiddling there.

@solz Please accommodate @Thorian's request for a refund on the charger or supply a new one to him. IT costs are for his own account. You did not authorize a 3rd party paid inspection.

Once the refund is complete, this will be closed and your negative rating changed to neutral

I don't have an issue with that. But I already purchased a new charger so I don't need a new one.

So basically he is going to pay what I paid for the new one to get the old one back.

so will pay the r450 for the charger and will add the r50 so that i get the old dell charger.
just funny that this could have been done before any of this red marking me, but all good.

send me your bank details and ill do the rest

Sorry been on the road and havnt responded

Myside of this is resolved, got banking details recently and made payment as stated above for the charger and pudo to return old one.

Sorry Admin's but

Wasn't the whole point of solz refund to get Thorian up and running in the mean time and not feel cheated while Solz gets the old one back to test and truly confirm if it was faulty?

Now Solz is getting shafted if by chance the charger was actually working in the end, and Thorian is showing no care in the world by saying if he happens to find it as he is sorted regardless.

I already purchased a new charger a while ago to get the laptop charging. I did notify @solz about having issues finding it and we agree if I do find it I would send it back to him. I honestly don't know if it was thrown away or not. I would transfer the money back too if it is required I don't have an issue with that because that was the original deal to send back the charger.

I will keep looking for it this month if I find it ill be happy to send it back to him so he can test it. If I can't I will have to take the loss and move on.
