Total war: Shogun 2 vs Rome 2

So anyone that has played or seen either of these games, they are on special at the moment and i'm unsure whether to grab or the other. I was a big fan of the original Rome total war.
Factors for me:
too linear?
Multi-player modes and how good are they?
I've heard about coop. Any good?
Bugs that make you want to pull your hear out and ultimately ruin the game?
Was your experience with the game good or bad?

Have both on steam. Love shogun more. I found Rome to be boring but that's just me tbh. Think there both awesome games. No real bugs that I'm aware of. Great games.

Shogun 2 is by far better. I own it as well. There's a mod that also enhances gameplay by quite a bit.

Rome 2 was a complete fail.

Yeah, although Rome 2 is apparently a lot better now.

@OP if you can grab a copy of Fall of the Samurai as well. Shogun 2 with guns and cannons.

Yes, FOTS was awesome. Get the other DLC as well if it's on sale, well worth it.
