I've read countless threads about how bad Evetech are, but this seems like a really good deal - it breaks my heart to pass up on it:

Core i7 12700K ROG STRIX Z690-F WIFI 32GB RGB DDR5 5200MHz Upgrade Kit

The included cooler is not great, but for the CPU, mobo and RAM combo you're saving over R3500 on what Woot has them for. It's such a nice mobo.

But it must be dodgy somehow? I put it in my cart, but I got nervous when they asked me to pay for shipping insurance (what?)

Has anyone actually bought a deal like this from them and been happy with it?

Shipping insurance is normal...

Evetech is a pit of fermented pig shit. Don't buy from them, plain and simple. you just supporting them being able to undercut everyone else & continue their kak.

You should ask if they have LGA 1700 brackets for that cooler. As far as I know they only have supply of Corsair brackets. I wanted to buy a Strix cooler from them this week so yea(I have a 12600k and Strix Mobo)

Look, chances are it's fine, they have improved apparently after the media shitshow. But having it that much cheaper than woot means that some of the items might need to go back overseas when doing RMA as they probably did not use official SA channels to bring it in.

Shipping insurance is a must with value like that, most etailers would simply factor it into the price, but here they probably left it out to hook you on a cheaper price.

I friend recently bought a Strix 3080ti from them but spoke to them over the phone first about the shady crap in the past(my friend is a Lawyer) and he was happy they won't try anything with him.

Evetech is real, and you will get your product, but man
The after sales support is dog shit

while 3500 is a lot of money, i just want to add here, you are dropping 20k+
I would rather spend the extra cash and buy from someone who has great rma services (like woot) just for ease of mind
Just imagine your mobo is doa and you have to fight their stupid bullshit or (and this is if they still do this) have to fight them and threaten them with the cpa because they take 25% off the rma because **BS REASON HERE**

Imagine this scenario, you spend 20K and say any one of those components are faulty, then Evetech tells you to take a hike when you need warranty support, now suddenly that "saving" doesn't seem so great anymore.

Seriously why would you take such a risk with 20K?

As long it's in stock the buying process is straight forward, the pain comes from after sales support and warranty (if you can't contact an alternative warranty channel), especially with their depreciated store credit that expires.

My dude I got a upgrade kit like that from Evetech with a 9900K and a Rog Z390 hero board , the board died on me while still under warrenty.

Its cheap for a reason.

I have a friend who bought a upgrade deal once, they sent him the wrong pair of RAM as what was advertised, then they charged him extra for the right pair (which was advertised in the bundle) AND he had to pay for the shipping costs to get the pc back to them and back to him

Then the gamdias CPU cooler broke a week after...guess what, he had to pay again for the shipping costs

So no, don't support them

Have a look at Progenix.co.za - their bundles are really good

R3500 you can stretch over 3years is R97,20c a month.

i.e. R100 a month over the next 3 years for peace of mind that your RMA & warranty will not be a problem even on the last day/last 12 hours of that warranty.

Evetech doesn't have warranty.

no this aint true.

Evetech's got warranty, until you need to make use of it.

I did actually ask them about that. They replied quite promptly to my mail saying that they can confirm that "the cooler is compatible with the LGA 1700 socket", but now in hindsight after all the other comments, I'm thinking that doesn't exactly say that it comes with an LGA1700 bracket that I can install it with...

Thanks, that's pretty sound advice.

To be honest I was about to buy a pc from them and these folks convinced me not to. I'm glad I listened to them. The pc I'm building now 😍

Basically means it'll fit since asus has the 1200 spacing but might need the different standoffs to get the height right.

Friend bought a AMD Combo from them Asus Tuff X570 and some CPU, after helping him to assemble it did not boot. Bios was not updated to support the CPU, had to send it back to them to flash bios. Luckily Evetech paid for the courier.

what? Evetech is real....they just have super bad service when stuff goes wrong. if you get it right, then no problems, when RMAs start...then you going to have bad time SCAM...

FTFY

My lil nephew spent his money on an upgrade kit from Evecrap. It took 3 returns to get things working. Computer still reboots randomly. I would pay double to avoid dealing with those thieves again.
