Just for interest sake, how do you guys on the platteland (with no theatres) watch new movies? Do you wait till it's on DSTV/Showmax/Netflix? Or do you pirate it?

Reality is piracy exists and always will. Not promoting it, that's against the rules. That being said though, who in their right mind would want to go to the cinema in this day and age. The whole sitting in a crowded, enclosed space with some downright inconsiderate and unhygienic people is something that baffled me pre-pandemic and even more so now. Subscription services fill the gap for the most part but there's nothing quite like 'sourcing' a 2160p HDR option for ones private viewing pleasure far from the madding crowd.
Piracy for commercial gain is shitty, but non-profit sharing is something the world needs more of I think. After all - sharing is caring.

You know those Christianity themed movies or Christmas movies ? … like think … Kevin Sorbo movies or his series Hercules … they have that same sort of feel to them as if the same person made them all

Well this new Matrix feels exactly like this. Not an A grade Hollywood blockbuster … did not feel like a movie but a cheap series where Keanu was likely given too many blue pills and forced to act in this movie … very cringe worthy moments in the movie … like the moments where they slow motioned scenes

If no one pays for anything, who pays people to make the shows?

There's an argument that streaming, not even piracy, has sort of killed the "good" movie. We either get these monstrosities like Matrix or James Bond, MCU movies that cost hundreds of millions, or we get cheaply written Netflix films like Red Notice that are so cookie cutter and bland they could have a barely sentient cabbage do it.

On the topic of the new Matrix Film, by the first trailer I was getting a healthy dose of Memberberry Pie, which if done in moderation, can be nice, but from the looks of reviews, the whole movie is basically "Remember This from the other movies!!!"

I have subscriptions for most streaming services, but I am on a farm in the middle of nowhere, so streaming sites is the go to most of the time, Stremio works well also. I feel that I am paying my fair share to the producers through all my subscriptions that I can justify watching a new movie by accident via a jack sparrow stream.

This was a 3.5/5 (even with 5.1 sound). It needed move trinity and less iron fisting

it was disappointing for me. The story sucked. I had more joy from watching Alice in Wonderland or Mythbusters reruns on PlutoTV.
It sucked so bad that I was browsing FB and watching funny videos. That's just me though

I think its getting way too much hate, if one understood the trilogy then this movie's concept and story works, I think too many people just didnt really get the story.
It was jus executed badly and the styling etc. was chosen poorly I think. I mean I'm getting people telling me they dont like the funny scenes, its too funny like marvel and I'm like ...huh?? ... did we watch the same movie? Also have a lot of people complaining that theres not enough action blah blah neo this neo this.. they think its supposed to be a super hero movie.

Did I enjoy the movie? not really it was meh... but I think the concept is fine, just executed badly, I wouldn't say its utter rubbish like how so many portray it to be.

I've got the trilogy. I had a plan to watch them in sequence, but the 4th movie makes it impossible.
It's not Matrix. It's a "new Matrix" that they are stuck in. A completely different place. That's the problem. There is no sequence anymore. It has nothing to do with the trilogy in actual fact. Except that Neo and Trinity form some super-bond in this "new Matrix".
I actually took the time to Google the whole mess and even Critics label it as a bad and unnecessary film. Critics aren't always negative towards movies either, they are positive too when it merits to be positive.

It was a bad movie in terms of the story and execution of it. It's not the actor's at fault. You can only do so much.
