Support Stop scammers

I am really tired of scammers . I know the forum seems to deal with them better and better every day but I still cant believe the number of people still getting caught by fraudulent people.
The issue is mainly with new members getting caught out and that sucks cause it drives them away really quickly.

Something I saw on another site to check if someone is legitimate is that they ask for before you can do any transactions on the site is to send a selfie with a picture of you and some form of government id

Yes I think it might stop some people from joining the site but at least we know every person that joins one exists
If they do scam anyone we will have name and id of the person
Also I think it is going to be a lot harder for a scammer to come up with a photo and id like that.

Yes maybe one or two scammers could join but it will stop the majority of of the riff raff scammers from joining.

You already have an approval system. All you need to do is check the photo and link it to the account for future reference.
I am happy for you all to see my ugly face when joining a site and it only take a couple of seconds extra

Side note this should also stop duplicate accounts going forward

No. It's additional admin and won't stop anyone or anything. We can't verify IDs and legally we are not allowed to ask for it either. We've done this dance and we're tried numerous things but people keep getting scammed - simply because they're too stupid to care.
