Starlink Kit

Each carrier uses different bands for their 4G/5G data in different areas. These passive devices cant be tuned to the optimal data frequency you require for MIMO signals. Generally thats why they only improve the old legacy frequencies that was standard all carriers abided by back then. Those high power selective frequency repeaters are not as simple as sit n speel though. Each time i've deployed one, the supplier will send a proper qualified radio engineer to come configure it.

To be honest, playing Dota on any sort of wireless connection (GSM, VSAT, PTP) is always going to be frustrating. Wireless technology can provide consistent bandwidth but it cant provide consistent jitter/latency which is a competitive game killer.

Try speak to YourCommunications. They do a lot of PTP connections in the area, feeding back to the DFA fibre backhaul at the Alverstone Tower. They are pricey but do use Radwin kit, so best PTP experience you going to get for home use.

I have contacted vodacom several times last year when i still had my contract with them. They were going to install their signal booster free of charge at my house hold. Well you can already tell how that worked out. My refrence number got thrown around each office like a swedish wh*re before i began to give up on the idea of them helping me. I have had a contract with those fkers since 2016 was expecting some sort of help with signal issues

When I die, I want Vodacom to lower me into my grave, just so they can let me down one more time.
They are so full of kuk with anything except sigining you up..

When i got my last contract from them the sales man promised me there would be 5G in my area by the end of the year (August 2021) i made him write that in the contract and sign it. At the end of the year i went back to vodacom to hear he was fired in december for all the false promises and adding on additional bills to people contracts without them knowing...

@Bubble Molester Oops is saying try contact a WISP who will deploy a peer-to-peer link from your premises to a fibre backhaul. An idea I guess, depending on your exact spot and LOS potential. Just hope you won't need 10KM... If you want to go WISP, contact Carl over at WebSquad or as Oops recommended YourCommunications since he seems to know the area

Closest exchange for fiber is 24km from me (hillcrest) but there is a new mall being built about 10-9 km away from me which might need fiber but that will only be completed in 2025

What is a fiber backhaul 😅

So a lot of places have fibre running in the ground even though the area and surrounds don't have consumer fibre networks like Openserve and Vumatel. You mentioned you have 10KM viz to your cell tower, right? I'm sure when you looked you saw many different dishes?

So basically there's hella towers all over the place, often multi-tenant and close to a fibre link. Not all of them are used by carriers like MTN/Voda, especially in areas such as yours where there's a lot of WISP in the air - which means there's a possiblity that you are near enough to a tower nearby (high site) that has a fibre link (backhaul) which can connect you over a more stable connection than cellular. Typically you pay through the ass for pretty low speeds and traffic usage caps, which is why I don't really recommend them unless you're a business that has no other choice.

Oh yea we have ASAP and OpenServe but no matter what GB line you get theres 15 to 20% pkt loss in game would rather olay on 100ms than have pkt loss.
