Do note that when cold booting and it is set at 144hz there are horizontal lines at the bottom, on DP and HDMI, no problems on 120hz. Seems these lines are inherent on Samsung panels as I have seen this behavior on Samsung monitors as well. These lines go away after a few minutes.

I can personally confirm that the lines only appear for a few minutes (Time it takes you to make a cup of coffee) until the monitor is warmed up. This is a semi common issue with these VA panels and I can assure you the monitor is not busy failing.

If you don't want to wait for the lines to go away on it's own you can switch from Display Port in the monitor settings to HDMI or DVI and when it reverts back to DP it also takes away the lines.

The lines appear on the bottom of the screen occupying about 5 - 10% of the screen and is only apparent on cold boot, if the monitor is warmed up the lines do not appear at all.

On 120hz the lines never appear no matter what you do.

The 1cm scratch on the monitor is only visible in dark scenes and not noticeable in lighter scenes at all. Otherwise the monitor is in great working condition and a good buy for the price.
