Sent EFT payment to incorrect bank

Hi all,

I made an EFT to a fellow carbonite member however I did not double check the bank name and selected Standard chartered bank instead of Standard bank. The account number is correct and I did not get any error when making this payment from the FNB app. Transaction shows as successful in the FNB app.

Is it possible to reverse this? If so please advise how do I fix this or if anyone has done so previously.

Bud you will need to go into your bank and double check with them. When did you do the payment?

It will automatically be reversed, but can take up to 2 weeks,. None of the banks uses the same acc number sequence so, it will automatically be reversed by the bank. Just give your bank a call as well.

3 Days ago on the 13th. I will contact my bank tomorrow.

Good news, I did not have to contact FNB.

They reversed the funds by themselves, I got notification at midnight.
