Job Description/Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Software Portfolio Management

1.1. Ensure that all software within the Company/Client sphere of use is licensed.

1.2. Maintain the software licensing agreements and inventory for all systems.

1.3. Provide a stable and manageable software distribution environment.

1.4. Review any new software requirements to ensure compliance with existing software model.

2. Disaster Recovery Management

2.1. Maintain IT disaster recovery processes and documentation in your area of responsibility.

2.2. Participate in disaster recovery testing to ensure effective recovery.

2.3. Document disaster recovery results.

3. Remote Data Connectivity

3.1. Maintain and support a remote connectivity platform allowing clients to access company resources safely remotely from various supported mobile devices (Mobile phones, tablets, laptops).

4. Servers

4.1. Design, Deploy, Configure, Install and Support a variety of Windows and Linux servers.

4.2. Engage in discussions and workshops to enhance, improve or refine server management and maintenance.

4.3. Ensure the highest level of security and confidentiality for clients and the company when dealing with servers and server data.

4.4. Occasional After Hours or Weekend Support where out of production time reboots/updates are required.

5. Desktops/Laptops

5.1. Maintain a standard desktop image to ensure standardization throughout the organization.

5.2. Provide and maintain systems and procedures for simplified desktop image deployment.

6. Telephony

6.1. Management and support of analogue and IP based telephony platforms.

6.2. Roll-out of new telephony systems.

6.3. Review telephony systems and make recommendations to clients for enhancement and cost reduction.

7. Project Management

7.1. Execute approved projects in area of responsibilities.

7.2. Management of agreed projects related to any areas of responsibility.

8. Supplier Management

8.1. Management of relationship with authorised suppliers in area of responsibilities.

8.2. Procurement Management for authorised Suppliers.

8.3. Adhoc Supplier Reviews as they become due or needed.

9. Substitute

9.1. Act as backup for various other IT functions related to the other IT positions.

9.2. From time to time assist IT manager with any tasks not specifically specified above .

COMPETENCY

Windows Server - Configuration and Management of Microsoft Windows Server OS’.

Active Directory - Configuration and Management of Microsoft Windows Active Directory.

Networking - Configuration and Management of VPN, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and Firewalls.

Microsoft Office - Deployment and Support of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office 365.

Virtualisation - Configuration and Management of Microsoft Hyper-V and Virtual Machines.

GP Management - Configuration and Management of Group Policies.

Client OS - Configuration and Management of Desktop Operating Systems.

Troubleshooting - Supporting of the above competencies and 3rd party applications.

  • Client Operating Systems: 7 years (Required)
  • Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft 365 Business: 5 years (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Server: 7 years (Required)
