Hi Guys,

My Samsung Galaxy Note 20 ultra has blank screen yet the phone still functions, I can receive calls, touch screen works and etc..

I have tried rebooting it a few times, draining the battery and giving a few smacks. but to no avail

I searched online for a solution and it would seem quite a few people where effected by and advised it maybe software issue that required a few reboots or could be loose connection. however the device didn't fall down anywhere.

Has anyone had this issue and had it fixed ?

Didn't the backlight die?

Use a torch and see if you can see any imagery on the screen
The device has OLED display, so no back light.

further context, the device display was working fine the other day and without warning it went blank.

Anyone have any suggestions to where I can get this issue sorted at a reasonable price?

Samsung wants to charge like R5k

sounds to me like the screen cable most likely damaged or came loose inside. Maybe take it to samsung? dont they still do the free repairs thing...

I suspected the same thing as well, seems like its also a known issue according to reddit.

My phone is over 2 years old so I'm not sure about the free repairs thing, but will give it try.

Would be nice to find reputable repair shop that can do diagnosis right on the spot.

I used a dude in CPT CBD to do my repair he did it while I wait. great service and was cheap I think R800

I had the exact same thing on the exact same phone.

It was in water and high humidity on my side. (IN Bali) leave it for a good 2 hours or else press power button twice to go into camera a few times, it worked for me. Phone back to normal.

Try camera and then hold in to turn off.

Touch still worms so be careful.
