Good day all,

As the title reads, could anyone with an opinion please recommend some 2nd hand car dealerships in the Durban and surrounds area?

Thanks!

Bought my Rexton from Don Christison at Kent Motors in Pinetown. Drove down from Pretoria too. Was the best condition Rexton I could get my hands on, bar none, anywhere. They're also the dealership who managed to get me the best rate from the banks- not sure if they have much (or any, really) sway in that, but the deal, the vehicle and the service I got was very good.

Mahindra | SsangYong | GWM | Used Vehicles Durban
email: don at kentmotors dot co dot za

Sjoe Kent motors is a no no according to a few people i know. You very lucky if that Mahindra is still going.
If you want good after service and peace of mind stick to the name brands. Kia, toyota, ford, mazda used dealerships. (many more of course just naming a few)

Not sure what you looking to spend but i just saw yesterday Renault's prices on some of there used vehicles took quite a drop at the Umhlanga branch. Cars they've had for more than 3 months takes a nice little dip in price.

I will probably just end up trawling as wide a selection of places as possible. I am looking for small and reliable (And comparably inexpensive): Like an Atos or an i10. A small run-around.

That's the best way to do it. I shopped around over December for 2 consecutive days and finally found something.

It's not a Mahindra. Rexton is a SsangYong suv. Having said that, I only have good things to say about Kent. They also sell "brand name" vehicles if you're a brand snob. Nothing wrong with my Rexton nor my parents'. Very reliable and we do the Moz thing often as my sister lives there. It will go everywhere any other 4x4 can go, and do so with ease.

But that is besides the point. Op wanted a dealer that sells 2nd hand, and they do, all different brands, not just Mahindra / SsangYong / GWM.

As for after sales support. Got that in spades as well. As I needed to register the car in Gauteng, they fully reimbursed me for everything (as it falls under service and delivery) even though I paid someone to go stand in the queues on my behalf. They even reimbursed me for that, and they didn't have to. Also had various calls weeks afterwards with them checking upntonsee if I'm happy with my purchase, the vehicle isn't giving any issues etc.

Just my 2c. :)

Sorry man, saw the first name on your link an typed it out.
On that note, OP is asking advice and unfortunately the first place you mentioned was one where i would stay away from. (just my 2cents)
Glad your samsung is driving well.;)

Cool man, not a train smash then.
That's why we're all here after all, to give our input.
No company will ever have a 100% perfect track record, I think. It's just in my experience, I would definitely recommend them.
