So I'm going to be delidding a few 8700k's this weekend, but needed some clarification on removing the silicone adhesive and reliding.
Is it safe to remove all the adhesive on the CPU and relid, I relidded this little i3 3rd gen and resealed by putting a tiny drop of superglue on each corner once the ihs was on. This will not cause the cpu to short etc? Watching Gamers Nexus vids and he says remove all silicone but his example seems to keep all the silicone on the chip itself.
