Sony plans to charge a monthly fee of $9.99 in the United States and 6.99 euros in Europe for playing multiplayer online games on its PlayStation 4 console scheduled to debut this month.




they tricked us ,making the console cheap , but asking R1200 a year for online play!!

Well its early days, so hopefully its another one of those "for premium features" things. However it seems like another epic fail on their part.

Perhaps they should collaborate with AMD -- they both seem intent on turning sure winners into a loss.

Fee's were always stated since E3 but just never discussed how much.

I saw an article the other day saying it's $50 a year.

It's basically PlayStation Plus from what I know, So free games still apply with them.

Honestly...H-bomb...I thought you had more sense than this. There has been NO official statement from Sony regarding this. All rumour mill mumbo jumbo.

Until I hear or read an official Sony press release stating this I will ignore it.

We already are paying play-tolls look at the premiums we are paying for internet connectivity which is 10 years behind the rest of the world.

You can get PS+ for R500 a year, the first year of PS+ included 64 games and what do you know, MS are doing the same now offering free games, but PS+ will get you 2 or 3 PS3, PS4 and PS vita games every month...

no there was rumors that online is extra with ps plus , but yes probably just the ps plus needed.

was going to get ps4 , but they delayed drive club which was suppose to be free with ps plus on launch , they replaced with some cheap crappy game

That is the problem if you do a direct conversion on the prices they pay in other countries for ps+. Sony has a different price for the South African ps+ accounts. And it will always be quit good priced. I never paid over R500 a year for ps+. Think it's around R490 a year. Which is pretty good concidering you get free games too

People need to take advantage of the multiple deals available for psn+. I've got another 2-3 years on my account and paid 365 a year

I'm a bit late to the party but Sony has never been as greedy as the guy's at M$ trying to milk you for each and every penny you have earned.

PS+ is really worth getting,especially if you own a PS4,PS3 and a Vita as your account is linked to all of those devices. You get a lot of free games per month on each platform which at the end would cost you round about R800 or even more per month on these games and you get it all for just over R500 a year!
