Horizon: Zero Dawn Is Coming To PC

Played it for a bit. Game looks beautiful - much prettier than Death Stranding.

After watching the DF video I am running 1440p Ultimate but with shadows on high, and clouds/reflections/ambient occlusion on medium.
I downloaded the NVIDIA 451.85 hotfix driver and also enabled Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows 10.
I also disabled vsync in game and in the NVIDIA control panel, and enabled 16x Anisotripic Filtering in the NVIDIA control panel.

The benchmark is a big fat lie. My 1080Ti is averaging 93 in the benchmark but is actually sitting at 70FPS running around in a forest in the game.

The hitches are annoying but I've played worse games at launch (Anthem, ME Andromeda).
I'm not noticing the 30fps animations that much.

Some serious memory usage. 11.5Gb RAM and a whopping 10.5Gb VRAM usage on a 11Gb 1080Ti - and this is just at 1440p.

I've got other games to enjoy so I'm still gonna wait until the bugs are patched and performance is improved.

Thanks for the write up. I'm keen to get the game but wanted to hear from you guys first what you thought.

Ditto. And except for 1 crash, I dont know what all the bitching is about. The game runs fine. Its not a fucking COD fps. Its a sneaky cyborg sci-fi spice girl adventure.

Pretty fun so far

I was able to redeem the $-10 discount voucher on Epic. Now for the loooooong download on my crappy 10mb ADSL line. :(

I almost finished and then another 5GB patch added on at the end [emoji26]

I'll just keep playing God of war in the meantime

Yeah. I literally installed, kept the chosen presets ("favor quality") and got playing. No crashes, a couple dips below 60fps (at 3440x1440) which would have been imperceptible if I wasn't watching the FPS counter. More than playable, and the game looks and feels great. Only thing I need to do is edit the .exe so that the cutscenes are in 21:9.

I'm leaning towards the agonizing over bad port being pure clickbait drama, and the other reviewers who are lambasted for not nitpicking simply reviewing the game.

Great game.............played an hour now. And all I got to play was this :

Very few of those single sync issues and after being in the menu a while and went back into the game, I got like a bunch of stutters for half a sec and then back to smooth gameplay again. I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers and all seems to be sorted now..:)

I am considering doing the same thing...as it seems to work out cheaper...$30 dollars after discount. Did you use paypal or the card payment option?

I always use Paypal.

Then once the payment is done , I remove my credit card from paypal. You do loose like ~R15 every time PayPal has to add the card, but its just me being paranoid not liking to keep my details saved anywhere.

I became a "brave" today game is really engrossing an hour well spent.

I am stuck surrounded by 3/4 corruptors and 8 fire arrow shooters , only freeze ball thingy available !

I'm enjoying this game. I haven't made it to Meridian yet but I'm taking my time. One of my friends suggested exploring everything and doing side quests etc. So I've been leveling up and doing the cauldrons. What level are you on now meneer? I just made it to 21.

Got a copy of the game recently - decided to wait a while for all the patches were deployed after all the day one issues etc that were reported. For me so far, the gave has been running great, no crashes. Have played a bit of this, and it is a very engaging and engrossing game. Got a bit of the Assassins Creed feel with the stealth aspects.

I just love shooting these Grazers with the Fire arrows on their blaze tanks, watch them look up alerted...and the kaboooom...killing them and damaging seriously the rest of the herd!

Enjoy it, the game is mad. I have two more missions to go in the main story but was advised by a friend to leave that for now and do the Frozen wilds dlc and other smaller tasks/missions because once you complete the game you dropped back into the world just before the last mission anyways.

The game is mad...some of the enemies are crazy as well!!! Those flamethrower robots, those stalkers the ones that go invisible....and i am still using the Bow. I am now at the point where i am going to explore the first Cauldron...there is a huge group of robots guarding the entrance. Been doing the side missions and collectibles huntings as well. I wasnt prepared for the twist after winning the Proving...

The best weapons in my opinion to get are the shadow weapons. Get the bow with tear blast arrows first if you don't have it already. You'll use it allot with removing armour and weapons from the different wildlife. Twists in the story there are plenty. Take your time and enjoy because it's like you don't want the game to end as you get closer to the end.

This is exactly what I did. Frozen Wilds is a great DLC as well, and nicely integrated into the game. The change of scenery is also most welcome. Enjoy !

After reading in the comments, I tried the games that you guys talking about and I found it pretty damn good!

So, Just curious to know...did you guys managed to the find the Ancient Armory that houses the "Armor from the old ones" ? Sort of like a secret armour? you need to collect power cells through-out the game in order to be able to unlock this fully...

Yep, find the armoury early on in the game but you only find the last cell closer to the end.
