Hi, I ran driver updating software I usually trust but stupidly agreed to do a BIOS update. Does anyone please have a backup BIOS file for this laptop. Already tried the Clevo W941AU bios bin file and although it programs correctly onto the bios chip it's not the right file. Also tried contacting people at Pinnacle but no luck there. Don't even know if they keep bios bin files for laptops they sell or sold. Please help cause it's my screw up and if I can't get it working I'm gonna owe a friend of the family a 5th gen i5 and those aren't cheap.

[EDIT] I believe any proline bios with these model numbers will work to so doesn't need to be exactly for the W941AU

Hey man, that's an unfortunate mistake to make... I've been there once or twice so feel the pain.

I had a quick google but getting mixed results, is the correct assumption a Lenovo Laptop? Will see if I can find something you've not yet come across.

I just saw that there is a brand called Proline (new to me), have you tried contacting their support as yet?

Thank you for your response, I've tried contacting Pinnacle who are their only distributors as far as I'm aware and they weren't very helpful, to give you an idea after explaining a bricked bios to them their first question was to take a pic of the boot screen, ehhh, yeah bricked bioses don't typically post. Was hoping not to explain it to them.

Proline = Pinnacle's inhouse brand, which is often manufactored by Clevo. Out of interest what software did you run? I know hindsight is 20/20, but I make a point to track down or atleast backup the current BIOS before doing a BIOS update, just incase. I think CPU-z will allow you to save the BIOS. On some systems, after a BIOS flash, the system takes a longer time than feels normal to post & give a display.

Try flash that BIOS again and give the system 5min (way too long but you have nothing to lose).

Faiing the above, take it to your closest Pinnacle and book it in. They will likely charge you, but it should be < R500.

EDIT: If it's bricked, how did you re-flash it? How do you know the file writes correctly?
