I bought it to use as a Plex server when I had ADSL, but things changed when I got Fibre. Now I just stream. I thought I had a use of it for backing up docs and stuff, but really I don't. So it just parks waiting to be used.
On a side note, this is very different to the original My Cloud. Just be aware of that.
