Description of Bad Deal:
So I had negotiated a deal with the above seller for an iPhone 6 which he said he was selling on behalf of someone and is working perfectly with no flaws. I paid him the price we agreed on and I organised the shipping as was stated on his advert. (that shipping will be on the buyer).
I received the phone after a few days and switched it on, as what anyone else would do. After switching the phone on, the first thing I noticed was a yellowish hairline around the screen and I immediately made him aware of the problem and asked him why he didn’t mention that in the advert. His response was “the phone was fine when I sent it and didn’t have any yellow hairline”. I took a picture of the screen and sent it to him, then suddenly he agreed to seeing what I was seeing on the screen….which is the yellowish hairline. I got so angry as I didn’t expect the phone to be in that state since it wasn’t mentioned in the advert. He then said to me “it must me be courier guys because when I sent the phone it was perfectly fine” and I asked him how that could be possible when the screen wasn’t even cracked. “I don’t know” he replied. Sadly, I had to make peace with it.
I then tried to open the sim card tray so I can insert my SIM card and after inserting the SIM card, it couldn’t be read. I then re-started the phone thinking that it might work….but the sim card still couldn’t be read. By the way, they sim card tray was struggling to open and close. I then tried to put another another SIM card and got the same result. At this point I’m now boiling with anger🤦♂️.
After encountering all that, I immediately made the seller aware and he said “the phone was working perfectly fine and there was nothing wrong with the SIM card tray and reader”…..then I took a picture of the problem and sent it to him…again he blamed it on the courier guys.🥹
I then asked for my money back as I couldn’t use a phone that doesn’t read any sim card. At first he was hesitant to refund me, until I told him I want nothing but my money back. He told me that he and the person he was selling the phone for agreed to give me back my money once I send back the phone to them. I felt like this time it was his duty to make sure that the phone gets to him so he can refund me as he had also said that he’ll see to it that he organise the courier to get the phone back. He suddenly changed and asked me to rather organise the courier and I did just that. After booking the courier, I sent him the waybill. He said he’d let me know when he gets the phone. The phone was collected on Thursday and it was delivered to him today and he didn’t say anything until I asked him why he hasn’t sent me back the money as I need to use it. He then said to me he hasn’t received the phone. A few minutes later he said to me “the person that was supposed to receive the phone was not at home so they returned with the phone “. 🥹🥹
I’m not happy at all as I feel fooled and I’ve done everything that the guy has asked me to do but hasn’t done anything except selling me a phone with problems which I think he was fully aware of. Now I’m begging for my money and he’s refusing to pay me.
Please help me get my money back.
