Hello, perhaps someone here has had this issue with this card.

It's happened while installing shaders, in the menu, in the game itself. The screen goes black and the PC stops responding (when I hit the NUM or CAPS lock the lights don't do anything and the PC stays on but non-responsive). At first it only happened in Warzone/DMZ and then when I played an MP match and then Warzone/DMZ it seemed fine - I thought maybe something wasn't loading correctly in Warzone/DMZ but it did in MP but it happens in MP too.

I bought it off an amazing guy here who is also helping my try isolate the issue. I've run stress tests whacking the CPU and GPU to 100% and various other games and the issue only happens in MW2 (2022). At first I thought it was my PSU but stress tests and other games klap the GPU and CPU much more than CoD and it's the only game this happens on. It can't be the card cos it happens with nothing else.

I've tried closing everything but Corsair icue (cos then my peripherals flash rainbows and it annoys me), still happens. I've tried the latest driver and 2 previous ones with and without Adrenalin, same thing. I've tried with and without MSi Afterburner, checking temps etc with HWMonitor, it still happens. I've tried undervlolting, underclocking and reducing power on the GPU, it still happens. Thought it was perhaps the PSU but other things klap it more with no issues so I doubt it's that - unless this game has weird spikes in power draw.

Windows event viewer doesn't show anything meaningful either.

Oh and other specs are i7 8700, 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM, 1x SATA SSD (mobo, not cable) and 1x NVMe SSD, MSi motherboard (can't recall the model but it's the one under the Z models).

I know there is a "userconfig.ini" file or something of this sort that you can backup to a different directory, and delete from the default directory, imo you should be able to just delete it, the program will append the config file itself, and the shaders will restart, graphics settings should revert to default.

It's only in that specific game that it happens I'm assuming? Shouldn't be system level issue, I think it's a program level issue if it only happens in said game.

This worked for two people? Maybe try?

"Update: I've done the classic method of deleting the small (only kilobytes) .idx files from the game's data folder plus the .exe of the game, scanned for problems, magically the game needed to download 40GB!!! (for a few MBs worth of deleted files) and it is playable again. Try it if you have a good connection and don't want to wait for a fix..."

Thank you! Will try that if I have further issues. So far, it seems disabling windows defender has fixed the issue.

Start by uninstalling gpu drivers in safe mode with DDU (program) check change log of stable and latest drivers for known issues and then download one (quite a few times the latest drivers causes issues for older cards for Amd at least)

Sometimes installing the stable is better than the newest.
