Mouse advice needed please

If you are based in Gauteng. Evetech, I think has some test equipment you can try out.

Best bet is to check Matrix or Maverick Center (Has but not all brands to test), Incredible Corruption or PCs stores to ask if they have the mouse and if they have on display, then to pop by and slap the mouse.

There's also Titan Ice for those near Fourways. I wish all local retail stores were like them.

Sure sometimes you can only get intimate with the box and not the real thing. But they still have a damn site more boxes than any other retail store and a couple of things outside the box.

G102 is easy peasy, go into a makro. They had boxes of them in a branch near me but you won't be happy with the G102. The Glorious I'm considering maybe I'll sell mine maybe I won't and my Skoll maybe I'll sell mine and maybe I won't ;)

Oh yes, I forgot about them. Maybe you could ask them if they have any RMA units where you can try out? (Highly doubt they would but could give it a try)

Just let me know when you will or when you wont ;)

If I sell my 650, how much should I put it up for?

The big issue with mice are that they are extremely subjective. All about whether it works for you or not. The exact same goes with mouse pads.

I have always found the RocketJumpNinja reviews exceptionally helpful over the years. What is his favourite and what has been mine hasn't always overlapped but I have always got a good idea of what is quality in terms of the items he reviews.

I bought a Sensei 310 which I absolutely loved. Then bought the Rival 650, but it just didn't click with me like the 310. The depress distance of the buttons felt too far, and the mouse was too big. I went back to the 310. I see now that Steelseries has re-released the original Sensei shape with the latest optical sensor. That will probably be my next mouse.

On the other side of that, if one loves a massive heavy mouse, Logitech has re-released the MX518 shape with their latest optical sensor. Makes for a great mouse.

I prefer am ambidextrous mouse and had a Zowie FK2 before. Loved the shape but a few issues. The mouse feet weren't quite as smooth as I prefer, the mouse wheel became squeaky really quickly and no quick switch dpi on top of the mouse like Steelseries that I use a lot.

I will probably put up my Rival 650 for a bargain price soon as well the moment the new Sensei becomes available in SA.

I have found 80 to 90 grams is perfect for me. Below that too light, above that too heavy, which was my issues with the original Rival, though it was an excellent mouse. I played with a Steelseries Kana for a long time just because I loved the shape in the hand.
