Hi guys

Need your opinion... I have 2 screens in mind for a surround setup, but I can't decide which one to taker. The one is a 5ms RT and the other is a 2ms RT. Is there a clear difference between the two in FPS games?

I really really don't think it makes a difference. (Just make sure both is measured black to black or grey to grey.

(Blurry on text? Is this with a DVI/HDMI cable? Only blurriness will be with rapid changing of image. Not text.)

yes there is a clear difference but only if you know where to look for the differences, must people cant really spot them. anyhow sadly these days manufacturers claim 2ms while in reality its only 3ms maybe 4ms. on the other hand if they say its 5ms chances its actually higher are very high too. i myself will go for lower response time when it comes to gaming. one other thing most people ignore is artifacts that screen produces due to fast timing. here, read this article. a tad old but very informative.

well to be honest, some say u cant see the difference well I CAN,on the 5ms the text is for me abit, blurry,on 2ms eish it is just nice.

You sure its the response rate and not the refresh rate? For example text would look blurry at 50 Hz but much much clearer at 75 Hz.

Text will only look blurry on a high response time screen if you move the document around. Static images do not benefit from response time or refresh rate at all...

You can notice the difference between 5ms and 2ms, but to be honest, using it as an excuse for not playing well or enjoying a game would be a big bowl of bull****. Also, very few monitors have a true 2ms response time, borderline none. Most of them are compensated response times, which in my opinion, look *** in any case. I get irritated by response time compensation (RTM on Samsung monitors) whereas I've never been bothered by a higher response time like my T260 has.

You sure its the response rate and not the refresh rate? For example text would look blurry at 50 Hz but much much clearer at 75 Hz.

This is simply not true. You could have a response time of ten seconds and a refresh rate of 0.1Hz and text would still be sharp as long as you aren't scrolling.

Personally I dont see a difference but put an 8ms against a 2ms and you can make out a difference, slight but a difference non-the-less.
