Hey Carbohydrates,

Any suggestions on a (not so expensive) media box with the below criteria?

1. Official Netflix Support (At least 1080p)
2. Official Prime Support (At least 1080p)
3. At least 2 USB ports for external content

Not looking for those boxes with pre-installed apps, then when an update is needed, either the app wont run or I'm stuck with a useless plastic box, or keep updating via sideloading

Thank You!

n.b Not looking at things like the Nvidia Shield or Roku Ultra, that costs waaay too much

Lol, it looks like there are no solutions for an average budget. Media boxes are cheap to make, they average around 2GB of RAM and 8/16 GB of storage. I wonder why Netflix and Prime, that enable majority of phones to be certified for use, but can't certify an actual Media Box that's meant for TV use.

That, and the top end streaming devices, like the Roku or the Fire Stick for eg, have some application compatibility but for them to slap on USB ports for external content, takes up the price to almost twice or three times.

The Ematic has everything you listed.
Whaaaaat??!? :D lol thank you sir/master of the internet. You have no idea how long I was looking for this thing that was under my nose! Just FYI, the reason that I want this... Load Shedding! I have a GTX 1080 to full gaming PC and an MSI 17" GTX 1060 laptop with I think 180w drawing at the wall. I can just pair this to my monitor and the wattage draw on this is only 8w. That into my 12v ups is only 0.6Amps an hour. Thank You again dude! Yay me!! :D
