Hi all,
Apologies for not having done the introduction section yet, but I wanted join this conversation as well.
I also bought this monitor from Rebel tech about 3 weeks ago. I have not done any calibration as of yet as I am not sure how.
I have only done the basics like enable Freesync and change response time to fastest. As have not yet had a lot of time to play around and test but here is a brief summary of my experience:
So far I have not had ANY bad experience with this monitor, even though I might not even be using it at its full potential.
- When I started up my G-Sync Enabled was tick by default. I only had to change my refresh rate to 144hz in the drop down.
- I have only done the testufo check to see whether it picks up the 144hz and that was successful.
- The problem now comes in where I am not sure that the 144hz is actually working in game. Things feel smooth but not WOW!. I cannot see any tearing at all. So for me Freesync is defenitely working but I am not sure about the 144hz. I am wondering is there is some other trick (as mentioned above by someone else).
- I have only run Apex Legends and Insurgency Sandstorm and BF1. All of them at fullscreen with now issues (no flickering)
- I am trying to purchase Battlefield V via Origin Access but for some reason my payment details keeps on rejecting (will continue this discussion on a different thread)
- It would be great if someone can guide me with some calibration tips for this monitor.
- If anyone wants me to test or try out some feature, feel free to ask.
My hardware: i5 6600K @4.5ghz; 16Gb @2666Mhz; Asus ROG Strix GTX1080; 960EVO NvMe SSD; Samsung 43" KU7000 UHD TV (previous display)
Is this your first 144Hz? There's nothing wow about 144Hz......until you decide that and go back to 60Hz that is.
And as much as I like GSync, the best way to experience high refresh is unsynced and unrestricted.
Because remember what GSync and Freesync actually do is change your Hz to match your FPS. So if you're getting only ~80 FPS the monitor is only running at ~80Hz.
