Hi Guy's

So my mechanical warranty will be expiring soon and i cant drive my car without a warranty. Parts are K#K expensive for my car.

So any one know of any good companies that offers these warranty's at good prices?

Thanks

No. They all suck, really. I've had two - neither of them have paid out for anything. Also, if they do, you are severely limited to the amounts they pay out, so you fork out a bunch yourself anyway. I would rather buy a new car than get one with a bolt-on mechanical warranty, to be honest.

@juankleynhans dont know if my father only got lucky but he bought an extended warranty from SA warranties for his ford ranger and less than a month after he bought the warranty, the turbo went poof, they paid for everything, no questions asked.

What vehicle is it?

I extend mine with Toyota directly, cost 5k to take it another 2yrs/180k

Thanks for everyone's opinions. My previous warranty was with Constantia IAfrica, They where very good and paid out twice once for a Petrol Pump and Other was a throttle body. The car in question is a Peugeot 207 GTI.

@juankleynhans , so third party mechanical warranties pay up a specific amount towards an issue.

For example you choose benefit 2 on a warranty plan, under pay out amounts it stipulates R10000 towards clutch/flywheel. You take your car in and they quote you R15000, this you will have to pay in R5000, depending on if:
1. Its not wear and tear
2. The part failed

And majority of times they go to the rmi approved mechanic to confirm what damage was caused. I had a similar issue where they never wanted to pay out as they said I was driving on my clutch (even though, I had the car for a month) after a few minutes on call with a line manager it got reversed and said they will pay out the claim.

My repair shop recommended Innovation Group, just recently signed up with them so I can't say how they are. Previously I had one with Unitrans/Equestra and payments to dealerships were fine, payments where they had to refund me, I had to make like 30 phone calls. Remember there are no 'hookers with a heart of gold' in the insurance industry.

Motor Guard was very good with my claim, the damage was R36k and they wanted to pay R25k as stated with the booklet I received, I asked for more they helped me with another R3k

I deal with this quite often as I work at a garage, and I also drive a Peugeot. We have used different groups and so many write things off to wear and tear. The place we use now is the best by far that I have used. It is owned by "AA".
