Hi all,

We're looking for options for about 20 DC-DC ups devices to keep internet running whilst working from home.
We're not looking at any AC Inverter options, JUST INTERNET.

Most of us have fibre (+WiFi router), but we have some 'special' requirements in the field. We're already got a few in the field (Gizzu, Ratel) and they are just not up to the 4.5 hour loadshedding that we're experiencing.

So, does anyone know of a locally manufactured device that can meet the requirements below?

Requirements:
- Output voltage: 5v, 9v, 12v, 19v*, 24v*
- POE*: 15v, 24v
- Minimum peak power output: 30w (2.5A @ 12v)
- Minimum stored power: ~55 Wh [~14,400Ah @ 3.6v] (i.e. 1A @ 12v = 12w * 4.5 hours = 54w, excluding efficiency losses)
- Lithium batteries
- Made in .za*

Items marked with * are 'nice to have'

Examples:
- UltraLAN Micro UPS (DC & PoE) – 60W 17.6AH - Had good recommendations.
- Ratel 860P - Great experience, difficult to source, not local
- Ratel 8100 - God experience, no POE not local
- Power-Buddie Mini DC UPS - 48V, 12V, 9V, 75Wh PoE (Power-Buddie Mini DC UPS - 48V, 12V, 9V, 75Wh PoE), pricey
- Titan Elecstor 100w (https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?t...esale-pricing-available-for-resellers.456718/), no POE
- SolarWise 15600 - rebranded Ratel 1000?, no POE (15600mAH Solarwize Micro UPS - Internet, Smart Device and CCTV Power Backup)

Misses:
- WiBox - Local!, awful form factor, must pre-spec the Voutputs, SLA (but can be upgraded to LiFePo4)
- Ratel 430M - not enough stored power to make it through 4.5 hours.

Anyone know which of these are locally manufactured?

Are there any options that we're missing?

I honestly think that even the local ones would be manufactured in China and just a sticker slapped on here.
Why are you looking for Local specifically? If it's just to support local more, buy from a reseller as opposed to takealot etc.

Yes, things are tough out there and if anyone is brave enough to run manufacturing in .za they deserve our support.

Buying from .cn is easy, but if possible we'd want to support local first.

So, this?

That's a good option. I like that POE is 24/48v. They say that the 17600mAh with a 10w load only offers 5.5 hours from a 65Wh battery pack, but I'm assuming that's just the state of .za maths education kicking in. Our experience with similar units suggests slightly longer that 5.5 hours at 10w.

Does anyone know if this is local? Or a branded import?

I don't know for sure but I have used quite a few devices.
Some other companies truly do slap on a sticker but from the Gizzu boxes they look like they are partially manufactured here but you can be very sure 90% of the internals are from China.

Gizzu I think is imported. But I used one for a few months without issue. Upgraded purely because I got a massive unit at a good price.

I have got the ones of Geewiz, and they are amazing, got a few around the house for my NVR cameras, ONTbox , fibre router and had for almost 2 or so years, and they hold through all stages of loadshedding, never once have they not died on me
