Hi fellow carbies,
So a while ago my entire house was cleared out for me, and all my super high-end equipment was donated to BEE. I truly hope they found what they are looking for. So being a digital marketer and video editor, I now only have my trusty old i5 Surface pro 4 left to work on and it's not exactly working.
Then something amazing happened, I complained in a thread about the state of SA, and a fellow carbie sent me a dual Xeon server as a workstation to do my rendering work on. (not sure if he would like to be mentioned, but you know who you are, and thank you. I am moving along quite nicely thanks to this, but I still need quite a few things to get back to my former glory) And the insurance from which I have never claimed before refuses to pay (long story, laywer friend is handling that for me).
But this somehow inspired me to first ask everyone to please send, or donate any and all IT equipment, even if you think it's broken, let me see if I can turn it into something. I am going to try and piece together esports gaming, streaming / or content creation rigs for people and come in at a cost far less than what new equipment costs. I know this is nothing new, but I do love working with my hands, and the people on the forum that know me, know that I have built some amazing rigs for myself and for them. I am hoping that this will also ,in turn, grow to a place where we can give away a gaming rig to a family that simply can't afford to buy new gear, and/or doesn't know how much value one can squeeze out of older architecture silicon. (yes i have a boatload of XEONS incoming from china)
Then, I have been wanting and planning to start a youtube channel, and show/teach/educate people on how this can be done professionally and thereby get more people interested. But looking at the numbers, and how much money I and two partners are investing in just buying up deals, we are left with no money to start the youtube channel, get a few gopro's or decent phones and tripods, and mics to record all this. So for now this remains a dream, not yet realized.
So to anyone that can help, or wants to help, please contact me so I can explain the idea a bit further. This will obviously be a business that makes money, but we do need help getting off the ground. I have never attempted something like this before, most certainly never asked anyone to help me get a project going (do it myself kind of guy, looks like i am growing up now finally)

Your help could extend further than just equipment and monetary help. Been thinking about names for the youtube channel / business:
PC Tuner / OLD not OBSOLETE something like that. (my knowledge goes well beyond just IT, I am an audiophile / fabricator as well, so audio equipment and cars maybe later on can also be part of the channel. (we still have the m5 and might do an episode about how the 2006 m5 is in 2019 or 2020 depending on when we get going.
