Hi all,
So I have this fairly old enterprise-class SAN solution that I'm looking to refurbish and sell. It may be old but it is fast and powerful enough for a small business or even for a home network storage solution. I posted a feeler for pricing suggestions in Smack Talk but no one replied so I figured I would post here.
Here's what I'm offering: the HP system described in the thread title plus a free IBM System x3550 server as well to whoever takes the HPs. It's untested but might be useful to someone who is into this stuff.
So here we go.
Item: HP DL160 G5
Age: +/- 10 years
Warranty: Nope
Packaging: Nope, could organise
Condition: Fair but in working order
Location: Randburg, JHB
Reason: Don't need it
Shipping: On you
Collection: Preferable. Shipping this is going to cost you cuz it's heavy AF.
Price: Combo
Link: HP ProLiant DL160 G5 Specs

Price: Free with combo
Link: IBM Hardware Management Console 7042-CR4 Specs
IBM System x3550 Type 7042-CR4 general specs
No HDDs
Xeon 5130 2GHz
6GB DDR2
Given the online pricing and the fact that these servers are, shall we say, road worn, shall we start the combo price at:
R30 000 NEG
Like I said, no one gave me any indication of what they are worth so I'm only going on what Amazon, CNET, eBay, etc says. If I'm way off, PM me and I'll adjust the price accordingly. Or, make me an offer. Lots of room to move here.
Keep in mind that OCZ drive alone is selling for $1000 on Amazon. It's old, but was the top of the crop in its day and it's still blazing fast. Also, our company supplies the new versions of the HP servers (Gen9 and 10) to our customers and MSAs can be in the hundreds of thousands so, I know they aren't cheap.
Cheers
