Hi all, it has been ages since I had to decide what internet supplier I need to go with for my needs, my work has now given me a R1000 a month internet allowance, as we are now working from home, please assist in my options

Telkom LTE April Special - uncapped R899 p/m

OR

Get the copper line fixed at home, rent the ADSL line from telkom and get a 10 - 20mb line from afrihost?

The internet will mainly be used for Work / Netflix / mild gaming PS4 / PC gaming and a few downloads, the catch however is that I am going to share the internet with my neighbor who will probable use for all the same as myself except the gaming.

Please advice, we are staying in Potch, so Fibre is not a option as yet...

Did you come to a decision? Also staying in Potch, looking for the best internet package.

Oted with Telkom LTE uncapped so far running flawless without issues

LTE tends to get congested during peak times and then ping goes to hell for gaming. It's so dependent on the towers in your area: before committing to a contract, I recommend you test actual speed performance with prepaid SIMs from within your apartment. It's easy to find the coverage map that shows LTE only delivers 3G on the ground, and you'll have 24 months to hate your decision. Personally I'd go with ADSL ... I used to have a 10Mbps ADSL package with a 200GB cap and that was fine for basic needs and some CS:GO on the side. Then again, a good LTE tower in your area could give you 70Mbps ... but just remember that those uncapped LTE bundles on Telkom are throttled to 10Mbps.
