Hello to all
So I got a RX470 8GB here doing weird stuff...maybe some smart can help me explain what's going on?
It works fine most of the time, but occasionally it will make a few single-pixel green dots on the screen, especially in darker parts of an image or window (on the grays and blacks). It almost looks like dead pixels on the display, but it jumps around (like glitter almost). Other times, games (or even just online videos) it will have this "halo-effect" around objects in the game or video. It doesn't seem to be related to the card getting hotter = more dots/halos, its more random than that. I've tested on a different display, and using a different HDMI cable as well as using another display output on the card - Has no effect. Also uninstalled and reinstalled drivers + tried older driver versions. So I figured the issue is with the card
No warranty on the card, so no RMA. Is the thing toast? What's the reason a card might do this (it's not been mined or anything)? And is it possible to fix it?
From forums online, only info I could find is that the card is faulty...but I want more info than that.
Looking forward to getting some closure on the matter on what could have caused it
