Hi all

New to the FPV thing and struggling to get things sorted, information is hard to come by.
Here is the advice I desperately need -
What batteries are good to start with? I am not sure if it uses 3s or 4s and the store (RC Edge) I sent photos to isn't sure either, needs more information.
How do I connect the remote to the drone? I can't find anything online explaining.
How do I connect the drone to my cell phone as I don't have the goggles yet but this drone, when sold to previous owner, they were able to watch on their phones what was being shown in FPV Goggles.

Any advice would be great, let me know what other info I can send. Photos below:

Your motors are rated for 2-4s, but I'm not sure what your esc (the part that controls the speed of the motors) is rated for, but most esc's are built for 4s. Do you have any information on your electronics? That would really help. To connect your receiver, you would have to take the top plate of your drone off and solder a connector from the receiver to the flight controller if it doesn't have a connector as shown in the video below. Regarding the video feed, the signal sent from the video transmitter on the drone is not a typical WiFi signal, which you're used to seeing on cheaper drones, but an analog signal similar to the ones you'd get on your TV. If you want to see the video feed on your phone, you'd need a video receiver that plugs into your phone and converts the signal that your drone sends, to a signal that you're phone can display.

For the video receiver you'd need something like this: Eachine ROTG01 Pro UVC OTG 5.8G 150CH Full Channel FPV Receiver W/Audio For Android Smartphone

Here is a video showing how to connect your receiver:

Regardless, if are serious about wanting to fly FPV drones, FPV drones can be very challenging to fly for beginners, as they only have very limited stabilization, and have a lot of power, so i'd recommend practicing on a simulator first if you've never flown an FPV drone. You can either FPV freerider on android, or play a desktop simulator and connect your remote as shown in this video
for a more realistic experience.

Bite the bullet and get goggles, you going to want to fly with goggles from the get go.

Joshua Bardwell on Youtube has a wealth of information for you to set up everything for FPV. You can learn pretty much anything about FPV racing and freestyle on Youtube, but it helps if you have a connection at a local shop that can assist. It's quite a daunting thing to get into if you have no prior experience, and learning on a simulator is a must. You can connect your actual radio controller to your PC and it flies almost exactly like it would in real life minus the wind etc. Physics are pretty spot on.

I could friggen kiss you! Thanks man this helped a TON! I managed to get it running perfectly, but it seems like some magic smoke came by and ended the ESC. I managed to isolate the ceramic cap that was causing the issue (shorted) and I am going to go tomorrow to Micro Robotics to find a replacement ceramic cap. Gotta break out the microscope and soldering station again to fix it.

I managed to find some, just waiting for money to afford them, they are friggen crazy expensive.
I also need a new ESC because mine blew - OR I am going to replace the ceramic cap that broke. I am hoping it's just the cap and replacing it fixes it, that would be awesome.

I would but my controller doesn't have the usb cable :( I can't find it anywhere either. There is a shop here called highflyers that sells a usb to multiple plug thingy, but it's just short of R600, for basically a USB cable.

Some great info so far by other members.

As they have said, it is quite difficult at first. Keep persisting though and eventually it becomes easy and you will be able to fix any problem. Youtube will be your friend to solve any problem.

Where are you located? You can also join the fpv SA facebook groups and then ask to join a local Whatsapp group to get more help faster.

If you don't want to spend as much Banggood sells one for around 200r with shipping, only downside would be that you'd have to wait a week or two for it to arrive.

Love it but relying on our postal service (the government one) suuuuuckkkkssssss. I'd rather just pay the price and buy local. Also impatient lol. More the 2nd thing than the first

All good, just for the future Banggood has some kind of agreement with a local courier service and they deliver straight to your door without going through post office. So if you happen to need anything for FPV that isn't available in SA, Banggood is a great website to order from.

Banggood is great. Takes aaround 2 weeks to get here which isnt bad and comes straight to your door. Make sure to select the tax free option when selecting shipping, its usually around R100.
