Item Wanted: working pc in good condition(dual core?) + a monitor
Packaging Essential: NA
Desired Age: NA just needs to be in good condition, im sure you wouldn't want to give him a dented/marked pc with malfunctioning parts
Location: will collect in cape town
Willing to accept a shipped item: Hmmm maybe not?
Ballpark/Budget Amount: FREEE or something very cheap. trying to pay it forward.

Kid is in grade 10 and has no pc at home to practice coding on. its difficult for him as he can only stay a limited time after school to practice.

I have a mouse and keyboard already

Any help is appreciated.
Skiddz said he will check when he is home later if he has a core duo.
in case he doesn't you are welcome to comment on thread or inbox me. will still need monitor too.

Got a working laptop, but the screen sometimes flickers/goes off, so would suggest a 2nd screen.
Other than that the laptop works 100%.
Will pm you my number so we can talk about collection.

I got an i3-4130T CPU. Considering how scarce the boards are, it might not be an option.

Delphi 2010 is the language for all IT learners in SA, unless you are in a private school doing a non-public curriculum. It's really not that resource intensive, but 2GB RAM only will be painful.

I have a couple old core 2 duo and a bunch of 1gb ram sticks. Will see if i can build a system up. Will need the weekend to check everything out. Pm for info

thanks all for the responses. i am preferably looking for a full system as i do not know how to put on together with diff parts. if you do have an old office tower or something like that, it would be much preferable. i just dont want to seem ungrateful or anything for your help.

Will advise to learn assembling a PC. The people have various parts to donate.
Grade 10 use MIT Scratch to develop programming skills

Don't have much to contribute at the moment. But if I can get the Kindle (on here) sold for R1600, will happily donate R500 to the cause.

Thanks for your generosity! but i have just received the full amount in donations that @Jem007 is asking.
R500 from an anonymous donor from carb and the remaining R600 from my friends and family.

Thanks everyone! the responses has been heartwarming.

I will see if i can get a pic of the kid once he has his pc to post here.

Hi Bud.

if needed i have a I5 3330s just incase its here.just pop me a message

Government schools are doing Delphi, private (IEB) schools are doing Java. The java can become fairly resource intensive towards the end, for some reason those GUIs seem to require as much CPU power as some games.

@Jem007 thanks for sorting me out with the pc.

Hi all i am closing this thread.

I have managed to get contributers from carb and family and friends to chip in for a pc for this kid.

your responses have been heartwarming.

God bless.

shoutout to @[AKO] MatthewGhost for chipping in with a Windowskey!
