Sooo

Due to the bad flooding we had here recently in George.

One of my friends who works at a retail outlet let me know he can give me some nice discount pricing on below due to the boxes getting but damp not even wet just a bit damp.

Everything inside looks perfect I checked on the 599s and the others looked just as good. Box looks tiny bit warped but otherwise looks as new

But this is what he's got

1 x Hd600 sealed.
1 x Hd650 - sealed
4 x hd599s - sealed

He wants R4200 for the hd600
R4500 for the hd650
R1200 PER HD599..

Should I jump on this?

For new, sealed Sennheisers, the HD600 and HD650 prices are quite decent.

Friends, family, people that spend too much on Audio

What MIC's are you guys using ?
I have been looking at the ant lion stuff, any opinions ?

Box says 559 bud

If they managed to get some more mid and treble detail out of these, they would be an incredible deal for the price.

Definitely going to see if I can get my hands on a set. Probs his Fiio FHE collab as well.

So this got released. What are the thoughts on this, anyone going to order it? KZ X Crinacle CRN (ZEX Pro)

maybe just wait for a reliable review first before diving in - the original ZEX had great reviews - on paper these should be better but it doesn't always work out that way 🤷‍♂️

Well I've been wanting to get the ZEX so depending on how this goes in reviews I'll either get it or the ZEX.

hopefully this is better than the ZEX - i'm also gonna look for some reviews - hopefully those will soon be happening

The fiio he did recently is also really tempting although slightly more than I should be spending. Are reviews of that up yet?

review on the CRN

this guy seems to like it - he has a complaint on the comfort but i think that he just doesn't know how to fit KZ IEMs into his ear - they normally have a specific direction they fit in ;)

here is a photo of how 90% of KZ IEMs will fit - the sharper end facing the bottom of your ear and tilted toward the gap where your ear meets your face - and the cable draped over your ear - this pic is the ZSN pro - if you don't put them on correctly they will keep slipping out your ear and you will hate them - put them on correctly and they will be your favorite sounding IEMs ;)

heres a diagram of the actual CRNs - fits almost identically

Turns out it is exactly the same thing as the ZEX Pros were, they just have the Crinacle logo on the side now.

actually i saw on Reddit that some guy asked KZ about this - and they told him that these are tuned differently ..... dont know how true this is 🤷‍♂️

also look at that partial reply right at the bottom - did not notice it earlier but it seems to confirm that both the IEMs have different graph curves though i think that the ZEX pro page has been removed but before that some people did see this ...... again - no way to confirm this - just going on what people are saying on the internet and no idea how accurate that is

Strange, have reviewers saying Crin told them he did the tuning for the ZEX Pros after they had released reviews on it. Like making it sound like a "oh you liked them. I did the tuning"

Wonder if it was a colab and Crin didn't want his name on it if it didn't perform well so they left it out and when reviews turned out well they decided to make it an official thing.

yep - seems like he did tune the ZEX pro - but as i said somewhere up above the guys who saw the response curves of the ZEX pro say it differs from the CRN (OG is supposed to mean "Original Gangster" but many people use it as "original" and in this instance meaning Original ZEX pro) as far as i can gather

but who knows - as i said the internet is a strange place where strange things happen ...... though the good news is that whoever has listened to the CRN say that it sounds pretty damn good - so if its better than the ZEX then IMHO its worth the extra you pay

when a reviewer says he is willing to pay $150 for the CRN then it could actually be compared to many IEMs that arre a lot more expensive than that amount ie the $150 given that most people are just like me and are cheapskates so to get it for $35 is a bargain i reckon :ROFLMAO:

Sennheiser Hd560s
So if you guys own Shp9500 Phillips and is wondering if sennheisers 598 or 560s is worth it. It is. There is no comparison. The Phillips Shp9500 is not even close to them

The HD599 isn't too bad either FWIW - as mine are running in, i am enjoying them very much - the Sennies are generally very much a total fun to listen to" type of item - they have that "head bopping" and "toe tapping" factor that is missing from many audiophile grade headies which are more suited to analyzing what the music is doing rather than just enjoying it. Up to now any Phillips headphones that I owned were for DJ duties and they excelled at that - not so much for the audiophile or even just the fun aspects 🤷‍♂️ but i have yet to try those SHP9500

the Sennheiser HD560Shas been reviewed to be a great headie but it has been overhyped to death by many of the "hype train" type of youtube reviewers which i think is why it isnt as popular as it should be - many of those guys actually said that they preferred the HD560S to the HD800 which is comparatively a legend of note in the headphone world - which makes makes many people suspicious about anything said regarding the HD560S 🤷‍♂️

Does anyone know where I might find a pair of Koss KSC75's in South Africa?

Homemark are listed as the local distributor, but they dont seem to have them listed on their website, short of that the only other option I saw was directly from Amazon.

Anyone here know where I could get a DT 900 Pro X locally? I see a number of stores sell Beyers, but none have the 900 Pro X listed.

I did get my DT 990 Pro’s via Amazon, which wasn’t too bad, but I’d prefer local just because of convenience.

Evening all
So my daily driver at work is the KZ ZSN Pro X IEM's and for the 25USD (about R799 now at Takealot) I paid for them I think their great.
What would be a worthwhile upgrade to them in the sort of +-R2k price range? And would it be worthwhile in that price range?

I have to work with glasses at my PC so a nice pair of comfy proper headphones is out, just a ballache with the spectacles and its too uncomfortable.
Alternatively I've seen some on-ear B&W P5's hanging around here for good money, probably around +-R2k. That might fix the glasses problem but not 100% sure on their sound?
Cheers for any input!
