Must say, I am impressed with Trail Trading Post. My KZ ZEX is on its way, my first IEMs, so looking forward to it! Will post some pics upon receiving it.

2.4KG.

That's a heavy IEM, might need to exercise your neck a bit.

Yea mine's also shipping today. I should have waited so that we could ship together, oh well.

Crap I only saw that now.
2.4kg's, suppose they needed to add extra weight so it doesn't have to go through the Post Office. [emoji12]

My waybill says 0.0kg.
Empty box I tell you.

Mine's listed for 2.4Kg as well
If anyone has contact with the guys running Trail Trading to let them know Aramex might be overcharging them for shipping.

I'll mention it to him, though I'm not sure if there's a flat rate up to a certain size.

okay guys whoever receives those please do let us know of your impressions of them ..... im especially keen on hearing of NielH's comparison with the ZSN pros - then we know how good that website (bad guy good reviews) is, in terms of reviews - or if we cannot trust them

i really want to know if trhey sound a lot better than the ZSN pro's and possibly better than his Moondrop Starfields - if not then i will basically know that the review website is a load of **** (though i hope not because a lot of people overseas are actually raving about these ZEX irrespective of the price)

PS : the color that Andrew received looks really cool

Hopefully @nielh will be able to gibe us that comparison tonight as Aramex screwed up on shipping.
Also keen to test mine out as I've been wanting to try a pair for a while now and have some decent foam tips I can't use on my TWS buds as they are too big for the charging case.

Still, it is early days for me and I am not a pro audiophile but my first impression of the KZ ZEX is fantastic. My baseline is basically from my previous Sony XM3, I know that is probably an unfair comparison since it is a completely different type of headphone (in-ear vs over-ear ANC).

Amazing soundstage, very powerful (don't know how helpful/accurate it is but I listen on four blocks volume on my M1 and is more than loud enough), premium feel, no overwhelming bass. I must admit, I still cannot believe this is a sub R600 earbuds - it is crazy.

Comfort is something I need to test a bit more, I am wearing them in the office today, so going to rack up the hours and see if I experience any discomfort or fatigue.

The fitting is something I need to get used to but that's because I never had an IEM style ever in my life. Once the cable is routed over my ear, it is rock solid and not bothersome.

EDIT: Nitpicking here but a travel bag would have been a bonus but at the price I totally understand. I am using my glasses sleeve to keep it safe when taking it to the office and back.

For those that missed out this time they are ordering more.
See email:

Hi Eugene
Thank you for the email and feedback.

I’m so glad they arrived safe and swiftly.
I trust you will enjoy them and look forward to hearing from you again.
Thank you for the overwhelming response in the ZEX range, we have re-ordered larger stocks of this unit and will have more available in tue next 2 weeks.

Thank you for the support

Thanks

Fecking Aramex.

Can't wait to do some testing. Will try with the stock tips and have some Comply and Moondrop foam tips to mess around with

No matter how good or bad they are, at the price its a no brainer really

i don't think that KZ give you a bag or carry case for any of their IEMs but they do sell one though that you can purchase as an aftermarket solution - but it will be expensive since you can get loads of inexpensive iem cases all over

here's a pic of something i picked up at Govan Mani for R50 - price could have gone up now due to exchange rate fluctuations but a cheapie case like this works well enough

here's it with the case closed

the case on the right is something i found at home .... no idea where it is from and what its originally used for but i use it for my DAP (Fiio M11) if i want to carry that around

if you really want to spend on an expensive item - the Fiio HB5 carry case seems to be something really nice and heres a link to the actual KZ carry case

Friend of mine recently purchased that KZ carry case along with KZ ZSN Pro. His only complaint was that the case is a bit small, so fitting the IEMs and the cable in is a bit of a struggle.

I just went to the closest pic n pay, grabbed a Tupperware and hot glued some packaging foam I had laying around. Works nicely.

I've got a old camera case I'll be using.

That's what I call thinking outside the box, sorry for the pun.

Aramex finally delivered

First impressions were ok-ish. Sounded harsh/shouty on the very first track I fired up. Dropped volume and gain and continued listening

After a couple of hours of listening they seem to be opening up nicely. Sound seems to be warmer and more organic than the ZSN Pros

Cable is definitely better. Stock tips need to stay in the box

Going to burn these in for a couple of days with pink noise but so far i'm really impressed. For the price, they punch above their weight

Sooooooooo
Collected mine from @neilh yesterday. Didn't get to use them in the evening but been in my ears the whole morning,
WOW is all is can say. Sure i don't have the experience compared to come of your find gents but hells bells they are awesome.

Had to swap back and forth between my DT990's to just have an idea of the soundstage and how great it is.
I hope i'm not falling down another rabbit hole!!!!!!!!
