GuildWars 2 HOT EXpansion - New players

So this is technically a form of advertising and i hope the mods let it slide.

With the eye on the 23 October release date and with the game recently going free to play some new players are joining in. I am part of a guild on a Europe server ( Auroraglade but that doesn't REALLY matter any more with the megaserver setup ) Our guild used to be part of a 500 man strong guild that actively recruited through map chat and it got kind of old being a number, We started our own thing and now we are only about 100 strong But the players we have now are the type of people you WANt in your guild. The guys that pop in to help you with anything. Guys that when you hit 80 club together to craft you that epic set of Armour you don't have yet. Guys that help you through Fracs/Dungeons without oo much of an issue and some PVP and WVW experts.

With guilds having a big role to play in the expansion if any of our local boys or girls want to join a guild where they are some one and not a number let me know. All decisions are run by all members in the guild . We are not a SA only guild as we have players from all over EU with an almost 50/50 balance between male and female.

There are a few South African only guilds but having dealt with them before ( I wont name ) I was pretty disappointing about the conduct Global swearing in Afrikaans seems to be the " cool thing " to do in the one guild and the other one requires a LOT of input from your side where you get almost no rewards.



PS: Our guild has ALL guildmisisons unlocked and we have them on weekly basis. And with a few very experienced players ( 20 000+ AP ) the upcoming raids should be a lot of fun as well.

We also have a guild named KAWK. But we still starting out and stuffing around. All invited and even new recruits can add others to the guild. So far just a bunch of people from KZN

Alien getting all the stuff sorted and getting the merits and influence to unlock all the GMS will take a very long time? We can maybe if your keen absorb your guild. Id need to see if the leaders will eb keen for it. But this way you get all teh benefits and almost none of the negatives. Some one in your guild will just not have a a Guildleader rank. With HOTs .. you would need to do entire guild focussed things inlcuding guild halls that will need loads of guild influence and input to capture and maintain.

I dunno. Ill speak to the guys but we just want to have fun and your guild sounds like it already has politics. Yea it does take a lot to build it up and find 5 people for a dungeon sometimes. But we have most of the base upgrades already so that's not a huge problem, we wanted a casual fun thing that you aren't just a number like you said
But when I've done group events with a bunch of random people I didn't know, I have noticed that some people just leave others behind and cant be bothered if people fall behind. and it's frustrating trying to find group members when alot of people drop out of a team just because some people don't meet their standards

Hi.. There are no negative politics. you are not just a number and that what you are looking for is exactly that .. Friendly players that run around helping you with what you are struggling. No man gets left behind .

You don't need to. We don't want to grow exponentially only around 50 members or so. But I saw the options South African players have when it comes to " South African guilds " that is why i thought id post and get some more local flavor.
