So I am looking for a new place to buy my PC parts from and I came across Gamerg.co.za - does anyone know if this is legit? Because they have alot of deals on here that are competitive to other stores.

The website looks very sketchy and so do the prices. No one is selling an RTX 3070 for R10 000 or a PS5 disk version for R11 000.

We have a partnership with popular US retailer bestbuy where we source our products for MSRP hence our prices being the lowest in the South African Gaming Retailer market.

Gamerg was Established in 2017 by Hanco Du Plesis and has since grown from those humble beginnings to employing over 40 staff.

Website was only registered a month ago, and the company doesn't exist as a registered entity (I did a search on CIPC).

Also quite a laugh that they claim to have grown to a size where they have more staff than ET in only four years.

Next up, check the "staff" images - some are AI generated photos:

They nearly got you, luckily you did some digging. How many other people have they caught already? This is also not the first time they are doing this, they seem quite adept it.

This looks like a "legal" way to commit Groenie type of fraud.

GamerG took us for R17200.00 (R19000.00 less 10% because we used bitcoin). Absolutely stupid of us and a complete blonde moment not to research them first! The number they provide goes to a lady that can't speak a word of English, and the other is a "whatsapp business account", but the phone is continously off

Same here - made the payment, they say they will send the tracking number and never do. Whatsapp business number (+27 68 356 8599) isn't RICA'ed. Seems all HelloPeter reviews being removed. Need to a combined criminal fraud case against them as it is basically cyber fraud.

I think you're basically not allowed to say the word "scam" or similar. If you post your experience and say you paid but never received your item etc. without using the word "scam" or "fraud" or whatever then it would stay up... I think.

I think they have removed your post from HelloPeter. Could be if you used the word scam or similar. I changed mine to say paid for item and was never sent or delivered etc. Maybe try repost. They will likely ask for proof of dealings which is easy enough to provide to hellopeter. Hopefully they will provide the laptop or give you a refund.
