Item: Asus RX580 8Gb Dual
Age: Unknown
Price: R1000 - What I paid
Warranty: None
Packaging: Asus packaging
Condition: Faulty - Read description
Location: Kimberley
Reason: Faulty
Shipping: Yes, on you. Postnet etc
Collection: Yes
Link: DUAL-RX580-O8G|Graphics Cards|ASUS USA
Description: I bought the card as temperamental / faulty. Previous owner was able to play Minecraft (different MBD) on it with a temp of 60 degrees, but anything heavier caused the pc to freeze up. He had to use UEFI only and CSM disabled for the card to work. On my Asus Xeon, I got the pc to boot up with screen connected to the hdmi port on my current RX480. Windows detected the additional card and I installed the driver. After reboot, I got the dreaded blue screen. The pc simply will not boot with the RX580 installed alone or with the RX480 also installed. I tried the previous owners bios settings, but this resulted in no display on any display card, single or double. I had to reset my bios to defaults to get the RX480 working again. This might be an easy fix for someone, but I'm not going to be that someone . Full disclosure - I can see on the heatsink screws that the heatsink has been removed previously. Both fans are spinning as they should. You are buying this with all the information I have available and therefore accept the risk if you decide to buy the item.
