guys wanted some insight on how legit this EvackTech website and store has any of you bought from there and if you have hats the service like, is it a legit tech shop?

this is the shop URL: https://www.evacktech.co.za/

and its not Evetech guys i spelt it correctly, its EvackTech

That lion has a very Evetech feel. They are sprase on details about themselves.

Why not just buy from someone more reputable, I would personally not use them, too many unknowns.

There was a 4080 listed I saw, and to be honest, the price was kak. Where do you guys find these places? You live in Randburg, you can walk into PCInt (If you dont want to use something like Progenix or Wootware).

Their T's & C's are barely decipherable English:

Products
Some products may not be with us but ordered from suppliers and if not in stock with suppliers then we will email you and list replacement options.

Placing an immediate payment to our bank account will lower waiting time of a product since we only begin the preparation of your product after clearance. Not all PCs will run at estimated performance.

Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Evack Tech and its employees and agents harmless from and against all liabilities, legal fees, damages, losses, costs and other expenses in relation to any claims or actions brought against Evack Tech arising out of any breach by you of these Terms and Conditions or other liabilities arising out of your use of this Website. Warranty Most of our products have up to 2 year warranty but some of our CPUs and GPUs are second hand (we do state next to parts list when viewing a pc if it is) and may not include warranty. We still recommend these parts since all our second hand parts are of good quality and never tend to have issues.

Limted edition pcs
Our PCs take 2-3 weeks on average to arrive at the customers address after payment has reflected.
In the event that a limited edition pc has been bought please note that there is no guaranteed warranty as none is stated on the pc however we do offer repairs to the limited edition pcs if a problem occurs within the time of 1 month of having the pc. The company will not be liable in any way if the pc is:
1. Tested and has no problems whatsoever
2. The pc is broken already by the owner upon arrival By having these rules in both our discord and policies, you will be accepting these polices and legally making us not liable.

Privacy and Returns

Privacy - We promise not to give your information to 3rd parties and we only use your information to improve your shopping experience as well as improve our website.

Returns Once a product is purchased and the buyer is not satisfied or parts for the pc have been ordered, they can send the product back within 7 days at a repackaging fee of up to %15. The product must still be in a good condition to sell to other buyers and return to us before refunds are given. Refunds will not be granted if the customer changes his/her mind once they have the PC.

Terms of use

Terms of use By using our Website you are fully accepting the terms and If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions we recommend you not to use our website. Once order is made -Once you have placed an order, we will email you back and notify you if all parts are in stock and send you payment details and delivery cost.

Windows All our PCs come with Windows 10 home inactivated edition which means that the pc has windows and can function but you cannot personalise the pc (but is still possible through YouTube tutorials). We use this version so unlike other stores, you do not have to spend R2600 for windows and thus saves the buyers money. We only charge R100 for windows activation key if a buyer really wants the “full” version of windows. We highly recommend using this if you’re primarily using the desktop for gaming.

Cancellation fees on pcs after 3 days will result in a small fee in order to resell the products.

Payment Methods

- Credit / Debit Cards
- PAYPAL
- Offline Payments

Run away. I would not even consider them. Still trying to decipher what the mean by 2 to 3 weeks to send a "limited edition pc" with "no guaranteed warranty" - WTF type of english is that?

They are clearly illiterate, and should you have any issues you have fokkol chance of coming right when trying to deal with illiterate clowns like that.

That’s a really really crappy website. Got nice pictures but that’s where it ends.

I'm pretty damn sure 99% of readers did a double take on the name.

Rather stick with the known and trusted retailers if you really feel angst about them.

Hey guys, yes I am one of the owners - Personally I do try my best to run the store to the best in which I can and people here on carbonite can attest that my dealings with them is very smooth and I run on the exact same manner on Evacktech. To give context of the name, when the store started 3 years ago when I was 17 - I was the owner of the biggest comp fortnite gaming discord in South africa called Evack with 5500 members hosting prize pool scrimmages and we opened up a store in its name and simply added tech at the end so our members knew it was us.

There is some weird matrix shit going on here that I do not have the brain power to understand

@Wraith something to note, the Second-Hand Goods Act of 2009 REQUIRES you offer a 6-month warranty, whether the item has manufacturer/distributor/supplier warranty or not.

It doesn't matter if it's a 40 year old IBM XT, you are legally required to offer at absolute minimum a 6 month warranty.

Having T&Cs to the contrary is irrelevant, as the contract cannot overrule the customer's statutory rights. It offers you ZERO indemnity.

Refunds will not be granted if the customer changes his/her mind once they have the PC.

Actually, the can return it for a full refund in accordance with the cooling off period stipulated in the Electronic Communications Act of 2002, provided it is in the same condition (no broken seals, no physical damage - in other words, the condition in which it was sold).

Last thing, the Consumer Protection Act of 2008 requires that you offer repair, replacement or refund as the CUSTOMER chooses on faulty components for 6 months, so basically the entire minimum warranty period prescribed by the Second-Hand Goods Act.

Do they specify a cooling-off period? The number of customers who asked for a basic laptop and you sell them one and then they say "No, that's not what I wanted" is insane.

Basically making it clear that there's a cooling-off period and that it needs to be returned as is and in a brand-new and unopened state before they pick the laptop up is all I can think of.

Yup, 7 days. An opened/used laptop won't qualify, so they'd need to change their mind without opening it with the exception of a sale which is the result of direct marketing/not fit for the intended COMMUNICATED use (eg they say it needs to do Call of Duty 1080p at 120Hz and you sell them a Celeron with iGPU).

I would put that in the terms and conditions with a Q&A so that people have it in plain view.

I would also put it on the invoice and have them sign the company's copy of said invoice.

I would also tell the customer verbally.

That being said and how dom customers can be, they will still argue that they want a refund even 6 months later when they now want an upgrade.
