1st exp is so shit...it is beyond shit. Nowhere near the price asked. If not at 75% or less, don't buy.
I bought it, and it is complete shit.
Such a small "planet" or play area. And while the story is interesting, it is way to short.

Time for a thread revival. The number of Destiny 2 players is about to go way up as it's in the next Monthly Humble Bundle, or at least I'll likely be taking a look and joining the fray if there is anything still to join and if my crappy net can handle it.

Define crappy internet... I really had issues on my 4Mb ADSL line. This game really wants at least 1Mb up. Latency really never was an issue when playing in the open world. But going to the "Base" where there are a lot of other players in one area really needs that upload bandwidth. Also in P2P...

Well that's good news. So basically I get the game for "free" but can barely play it...yay me.

I won't say barely. You will still be fine playing all content except PvP battles. And when you go to "Town" it will pull down your line a bit with the upload but latency really doesn't matter in town. But for $12 it is most definitely worth it. You will get hours and hours of play from the campaign and the PvE content.

Even without the expansions? That's good then.

And for me it's not $12. I always find a way to get the yearly sub so it's already bought and paid for.

Guess I better go make a Blizzard account and start downloading...it will take a while lol

Well...that's fudging fantastic...Blizzard account auto-detects EU, but Humble Bundle must have given a US key because the region fails.
Sigh. So much for getting exited. Guess that's a miss then.

I tried out the trial from the battle net client, and have to say...so far, the game does have me hooked a bit. Has a character level cap of 7, and so far i have played quite a few missions.

I might be tempted to buy the game now on PC. I see that CD Keys seems to have the PC version of offer...but what does confuse is that that there are different versions based on regions it seems...i see a US, EU, MEA, APAC version...so by elimination, it narrows it down to EU or MEA version....maybe somebody can shed some light, if i where to purchase the game, which one would be the correct version to purchase? Both are on offer...the MEA one is considerably cheaper than the EU one.

Pretty sure it's EU. When I created my account to activate June's humble bundle key for Destiny 2 it all ended up EU. The region the Blizzard client suggested for me, the region my account signed in to after specifying South Africa despite trying to force it to US and the region my working key from humble bundle came from were all Europe.

Thanks for the response, i got it from Humble Bundle, worked out to around 150 bucks there..cheaper than cd keys...and the key worked one shot.

The only problem is that if you want the full experience it's gonna cost you another 35 Euros for the Expansion pack bundle.

I've been playing since launch,
You dont need expansions to have the full experience,
Main game with strikes and crucible and side quests will keep you busy for a month easily.

Crucible for way longer if you like PVP

Strikes are updated often too

Well, it's official. UPlay and the MS Store are no longer the worst clients out there. That award now goes to the fartfest that this Actiblizz client is. It's spent around 80GB and half of last week and most of this weekend doing absolutely nothing. I can only surmise it got over downloading the game and decided instead to download and then delete and redownload pics of Bobby Kotick's prick ad-infinitum.
Then it froze completely.
So I did the cut away and cut back fix mentioned on the Actiblizz forum and actually have far less of the game than I thought I did after all that time and data hence my suspicion about the imagery of Kotick's down south but at least it's back to do doing it's job now.
The MS Store may suck and keep restarting and UPlay may never be ready at laumch but at least both are always doing itheir job and not just spinning their wheels throwing data at the MS and Ubisoft boss's perversions.

Finally downloaded.

Tried it out. I know there's supposed to be no difference in classes other than supers/slight movement differences and damage soaking ability. Maybe I've just been getting more or less lucky with drops but it seems to the hunter does less damage, the titan an ok amount of damage and I seem to crit a lot with the warlock.
Played the tutorial with each one and with the warlock I got through much faster and was killing enemies that I didn't even realise I had shot that much.
Went back to the warlock and 4 hours just vanished lol.

I know it's supposed to be co-op or even MMOish but it's annoying how it goes from mowing through cannon-fodder to pot-shotting some higher guys to wtfleavemealoneimnotreadyforyouyet in the same area in the space of a few minutes.
Had the misfortune of stumbling into a public event alone whilst being in a spawn restricted mission in the same area looking for the next objective.


Net so far seems ok. I'm not gonna try PVP but PVE seems to be fine and I haven't noticed telltale signs of lagging yet even with dozens of other players around me.

Though I did notice players with lower power than me tend to be faster at taking out enemies than I am and faster at regaining their supers too.

And if there is a stronger player in the area I can completely forget having anything to shoot at.

No matter, I'll just keep cheesing from the church tower for a bit longer.

At the moment it's more like cheese cheese cheese.
I keep going to the EDZ and going up to the church tower waiting for the Fallen VS Legion business to start outside. Then I potshot all the grunts with my rifle and snipe everyone orange in cheesy safety, basically only the honoured phalanx can sometimes get me with their long range barrage. If enough has dropped outside and I'm basically out of ammo then I run outside and pop the super and run around collecting everything killing as much as I can. Once the super ends run back into the church and resume the cheesing.

Pretty sure every other player that has seen me do it has thought I'm a right tool but I'm having fun so whatever. Although I'm strong enough now to survive a little bit so if there are other players in that battle I usually come out to join, but if it's just me then cheesing the game it is for now.

From weak newbie to still weak Lvl19 in a single weekend. Crap things are hectic on Titan though. Makes that starting EDZ Fallen VS Legion skirmish look asleep.


Also that moment where you realize your favourite gun is doing 40-50 points less damage than all your new pick-ups but they all aren't as nice in terms of range or fire rate and yet you realize your favourite no longer quite has the punch it used to. And then you make the change and convert the old gun to glimmer and immediately things don't gel so nicely any more and it takes a lot more farming to get back to a nice forumula.
And or when the green and even white drops you see start out-stat-ing your blue or gold gear by quite a margin and you have to simultaneously up and downgrade.
