Hey, im looking for a place in cape town that does work on server motherboards for repairs etc, got a 70K server randomly freezing and cant seem to find the fault.

ive tried a few places but get shown the door because they only do normal computer repairs

To be honest, servers are about one thing. Reliability.
Any repair cannot guarantee that, so you might be better off replacing.
If the server goes down for a couple of days or your data gets lost, then 70k is peanuts typically for most business using a 70k motherboard.

In all honesty, my personal experience as a sysadmin tells me you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm not saying it's not hardware but I'd be incredibly surprised if it were the motherboard of all things.

Perhaps post some more details rather than just "randomly freezing" as well as server config such as raid setup, os, etc.

Could also pay some troubleshooting steps you've done.

Could be something as simple as iolockup. for eg, there's a very obscure bug under linux kernel version 5.1.15 where under certain circumstances you'll have complete iolockup. You won't even be able to ssh into it. You have 2 choices, wait - as it usually clears but can take hours, or reboot.

If you post things like this we can maybe assist in diagnosis
