Hello fellow Carbies

I'm looking for suggestions for a dash cam to be used in a BMW X3.
I'm not keen to try tuck in any wires, so it will be hanging directly from the center of the windscreen and down to the lighter socket.
Needing something reliable that can keep recording and overwrite the SD card as it needs to automatically.
Primary purposes is to be able to play back recent incidents that may warrant further investigation.
I'm not sure if I need a screen on it.....

Which dashcam are you using and why?

Many thanks!

Currently have the 70mai 1s on both my parents cars. Very happy with the quality and the smart functionality. Viewing footage is quite easy on the app. Uses a standard micro USB cable so would be easy to change if the cable is too long for you.

Would be happy to provide some footage if anyone wants to judge quality.

@CraigThePlague thank you very much for sharing.
This Xiaomi 70mai Smart Dash Cam 1S, do you use double sided tape to attach it to the windscreen?
Seems this unit isn't readily available in SA, where did you get your 2 units?
Cheers.

It comes with a see through sticker that gets applied first and then you stick it onto that. It's like a double sided tape but it's pre attached to the dash cam side. Bought the 2 units online through Makro but that was about 2 years ago now
