D3 game client disconnecting issues.. PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!

This is what I posted on their forums at THEIR request since their tech support can't help me anymore being out of ideas. How absolutely pathetic from such a huge gaming software company.

After troubleshooting up and down since new patch release they basically let me understand that the problem is not their patch but MY RIG!! I ask you.. It was working 100% on previous patch but now I get constant game client disconnects. So as last resort I am asking very nicely to all the experts out there for ANY ideas..

Hi all.

I am here at Blizzard's request since they can't help me any further as we exhausted all troubleshooting ideas..

Here is the issue. Ever since the last patch came out I have been having client disconnects every 15 mins or so. I am passed frustration as I have been losing rift fragments terribly. I can't complete any rift.

Here is what has been done so far:

1. Network and ISP has been cleared. I have tried 3 different ISP's and a wireless dongle.
2. LAN cleared as I switched all other items off in house and disabled wifi and only my PC was connected to router.
3. Replaced router and same issue.
4. Downclocked CPU and RAM to standard and still there
5. When I play on my wife's PC next to mine all is fine and I can play no hassles.
6. Downgraded to Win 8 and it persists.
7. Updated all hardware to latest drivers.
8. Took out my Creative ZXR (which was between to gpu's) and removed drivers... still there.
9. Unistalled WIn and game twice.
10. There are no issues in device manager.
11. Set sound to 32 channels and low settings.
12. Disabled sound all together and that worked to some extent.
13. Upgraded back to WIn 8.1 with all updates and all latest drivers.
14. Reinstalled ZXR in lowest PCI not between GPUs.
15. I have also tried setting the RAM to manual instead of XMP
16. There are no other programs running in background except for what absolutely necessary.
17. Battlenet app exit after starting game
18. Disabled Vsync

Let me just NOTE that before the last patch ALL was fine and I was playing no hassles.
Blizzard tech support can't help me sort out the problem that THEIR patch created.

Systems specs:
3960X
Asus Rampage 4 BE
16 Gig TeemXtreem 2133 ram
2 X Asus 780 Ti SLI
840 pro SSD
Creative ZXR Sound card
WIn 8.1 currently all latest drivers and updates..

Also I was thinking that it might be a sound issue but after disabling onboard sound in BIOS all the processing is done by the sound card and should not revert load onto either RAM or CPU now. Also didn't help coz it it still there..

Please help as I am about to quit this game as I am not enjoying it anymore due to this @#$%!

One more thing. I am reading of disconnect issues EVERYWHERE here and US. Why is this issue not being addressed since it is obviously a problem coding side?

We need a patch to address this please. This is not acceptable paying for a game and now not being able to play it due to a patch problem and conveniently telling the community with this problem that is our hardware issues causing it. It obviously is not since it was fine pre patch..

Blizzard being probably the biggest gaming software company has written the worst coding into this game? Surely you can employ better developers and coders as this game is just so full of glitches it is amazing reading through all the tech forums. Blizzard...surely you can do much better than this? You have not started game development this year. You have been doing it for years and we were all supporters but of late you are losing gamers by the dozen due to these issues. Such a nice game with so may issues...SIGH!


SO that was it. Please anyone help. I am about to quit this game I enjoy.. Thanks in advance.

that would have also told me that it may be your PC, but as you said, you have even fresh installs and still happens (as well as this issue being global).

you should at least try Win 7 again as well :p

all jokes aside: I hope you get it sorted, or at least hope they release a patch and it works fine again after that

How does that join general chat thing work? A setting anywhere...

Worked hard on my Barb and now I can't even play :mad:
 
nah, just when you get into the game, go to the chat on your left hand side and go to JOIN > General Chat

don't hold breath for it, but heck, at this point you may as well try anything
 
Do this, buy a cheap NIC, and give that a bash, I assume you're running an onboard one currently. I have had a handful of disconnects since 2.0.5 but its a very rare occurrence.

Ok will try although wont that be ruled out by using a Wifi USB dongle like I did?
 
Also, maybe just uninstall the game and do a FRESH install maybe some files are corrupted, maybe the game has a repair function? Just the other day it said some file needed to be redownloaded so maybe you just need to repair?
 
Hi have installed it twice over two brand new win installations and tried the scan repair function also..

Sigh that's crap man. Try completely uninstalling the game from your PC (delete all associated game files, registry, etc) then copying the Diablo III folder directly from your wife's program files and into yours then launch.
I know that feel though, you basically get to the point of developing a tin-foil hat syndrome - start thinking things like maybe if you klap the PC on the left side at medium strength with your right hand that it might make a difference.
Try Afrihost's free account too, that fixed my latency issue after patch.
 
Had a similar issue with Battlefield 3, never got a straight answer from them either. Turned out to be an issue with the network app I was using, one of those Killer Network Manager things, the app was causing the game to disconnect. Uninstalled the software and the problem was solved.

I am on Afrihost businnes 8mb. Tried Mweb 7 day trial uncapped 4mb. Same issue. Also Vodacom dongle. Same issue.

Also did two fresh installs downloads from game client on Batttle.net. Same issue.

Wrt other apps running. Made sure that bare minimum was on. Same issue. Installed only D3 after fresh Win install off formatted SSD and same issue.

Though it was resource problem so I did ram checked and passed.

Direct copy isn't the same as a fresh install though. IDK man at this point you might as well try anything right?

Have tried the Stereo thing...didnt work. Also I have tried disabling onboard sound all together to bypass the sound issue and do all the processing through my sound card.. Still no luck.

Will try the chat option.

When in the clan chat, it displays all the legs everyone is dropping, can become depressing sometimes :) The cool thing is when you run with four of the same class, and share drops. Really hope that works for you.

UPDATE - Seems to be only when I use Whirlwind...

How crap is that? My whole build is centered around WW now I can't use it!!!! :mad:
 
Mand... I think it may well be a problem with Nv cards or certain nv cards. I get the occasional blanks screen and what seems to be a disconnect but it is literally a few seconds and Im back. This happens in a very big fight with lots of flashes and explosions at which point during the disconnect/blank screen I can hear the card's fan slowing down.

Hmmmm, nV cards, maybe use older driver? Or update your driver? A new one came out on Monday WHQL, give that a bash?
 
Tried with old and new driver...still there.. Loads of Barb players getting this. Seems it is mostly limited to WW and EQ Barbs.. I must say with the ZXR sound card I have no slowing down of fps in big fights anymore.. It helps so much! So if you have a slowing down issue in big fights, get an dedicated SC.
[MENTION=3888]VPII[/MENTION] I think you are getting a brief D3D error. Had those too... Maybe I should go work for Blizzard Tech support since I have experience with just about every error..
