So I am looking to bring my Home loan interest rate down and/or find a general better solution. Currently have Prime - 0,2 (11,55%) with Standard Bank, where I also have the normal Cheque/Credit.
Currently been quoted:
Nedbank Private - 10,75% if both the wife and I move (so prime -1%)
Capitec/SAHL - 11,1% just for a home-loan switch (prime -0,65%, however they use JIBAR not prime)
Waiting on - ABSA, FNB, Investec to finalize their numbers.

Interested to know any good/bad experience:

Service levels and quality
Rewards programs - ease of use and actual reward value
Anything else?

Don't bother with FNB.
They'll lie and mislead you just to get your home loan and then ignore your requests.

Their private bankers are useless, lacking any sort of critical thinking.

Their secure chat on the app is a waste of time because for anything, they'll say you need to contact your banker or phone into the call center.

And they like to close branches/reduce what you can do in a branch as they try to go digital, but they are 100% not capable of going digital as the only way to get any sort of service is by going into a branch.

If you're planning on having a home loan for 20 years, save yourself the stress and go with someone else.

They all suck to an extent.. and change the rules as you go along.

Been with Nedbank Pvt Wealth for over 25 years... in the old days we'd go to the Nedbank Challenge, have overnight trips to Sun City, box tickets at cricket/rugby events and a wealth manager that would visit for coffee 4 or 5 times a year and get to know us.

Now, nothing, or hardly any interaction... I'll admit, I don't need much from them anymore, I have my stuff under control and I prefer that everything is online.

Probably the biggest benefit I use is the unlimited international airport lounge access and Greenbacks via Amex transactions are decent. Also, they provide me with a USD/GBP trading account, which is very useful. Also, I'm able to open/close investment accounts on my own online all the time - picking out the promos and using it to my advantage.

I also have Discovery Bank, but only because I'm so intertwined and committed to the whole Vitality thing... it has benefits, a new Apple Watch every 2 years for free, definitely get much more than my fees back in Discovery Miles, especially when my wife buys healthy food, and (until the end of this month) I could basically buy a pair of Nike shoes every year at a 75% discount!

ABSA, terrible.
Std Bank not as technologically advanced (self service is limited)
Capitec seem good, low cost.

Cannot speak for the others.

Bottom line - try get the best financing option you can! That is where the real savings are.
