We're not questioning your abilities, we're pointing out that your attitude towards certification - The proof of your claims - Is flawed.I want to clarify though as it seems that people think I am limited in knowledge. Lets start with Microsoft: Server 2003-2019, Exchange 2007-2019, Office 365 and Retail 2007-2019, server functions (IIS, VPN, DNS, DHCP, ADDS, ADRMS, ADLDS, GPOs, Powershell, File and Print sharing, Backup although prefer non Microsoft like Veeam an Acronis, Everything Exchange except Hybrid which I definitely want to do, Hyper-V, WSUS, NPAS). Linux my certs and work experience in gateways and Firewalls, Debian and CentOS servers, Ubuntu Servers. VMWare ESXI and Workstation. Mikrotik VLANS, Mikrotik Antennas, Ubiquiti Antennas, Edge switches managed and APs. Network installations and planning (Not Fibre), Electronic repairs which include circuit design and testing.
Now I could add more with latest certs and that is true but I also want to add a piece of paper does not determine a persons knowledge or skill even though most might think so. I have certs for A+ N+ Linux+ and LPIC1 yet all other knowledge I have gained working in the field for more than 14 years. I am not overselling myself and only list what I know I have working and functional knowledge of. 14+ years in the field teaches you way more but I will get Azure Certified in the future along with Hyper-V.
Forgot to add RHLE with Linux, I worked on Cricket South Africa (CSA) ticket servers at Super Sport Park Stadium in Centurion where I also have a recommendation letter from then CSA IT Manager, August Jackson.
You mentioned a fairly basic list of things that you've worked with, but I can also name 50 individuals right off the bat that have all done the same things that you have without being worthy candidates for a job in my department or most others in our organisation.
You mention A+. N+, Linux+ and LPIC1 as if those are somehow impressive certs: They're not. They are the Learner Licenses of the IT world. You talk about vmWare ESXi - But not vSphere, Horizon, Mirage or VSAN. You mention Mikrotik, but not Dell PowerConnect, Cisco Nexus, Juniper, Enterasys or HP ProCurve.
So I guess I'll have to say it bluntly. We're trying to steer you on the right path and all you are retorting with is a terrible attitude.
I've been an IT professional for 24 years. I've been at my current employer for nearly as long as you've been in IT. There are people on here that have likely been in it for longer still. There's some good advice here.
