Hi Guys,

hope someone can help, I have a Asus Zenith Extreme and recently ran into an issue. At first the error would appear for like a minute or 2 then proceeded to 40 minutes to boot into windows. Now I have to wait around 80 minutes to boot into windows. Extremely annoying to say the least.
So this error message appears on first startup before any kind of menu or bios "BIOS is updating LED firmware. Do not shut down or reset the system to prevent system bootup failure" then the wait begins to either wait to press DEL or just load into windows.

Things I have tried:
Installing NEW CMOS battery
Take out and re seat RAM
Disconnected all RGB LED on the motherboard.
Uninstalled Aura
Reinstalled Aura
Updated latest Bios - current version 2601
Cleared Cmos settings

Has anyone else seen this kind of error before ?

Cheers
Z

Google has quite a few hits on this.

How long did you wait when installing the new cmos battery?

Someone suggested downgrading your bios, which you haven't tried yet, so guess it can't hurt.

Still the same 80min wait. and everytime I try something its a 80min wait. so now what I do is sleep the PC and wakes up straight into windows.

Had this issue on my previous setup which went away when I got rid of the 6900xt gpu.
So not sure if that's a viable solution for you, but try the above options as well.

Oh wait no, this was on my 2700x setup with a Rog board that I had the issue.
Guy I sold that to built it into a new case and issue went away.

Sorry, my question was unclear. Did you wait at least a few minutes before slotting in the new battery so that any residual charge could be dissipated?

Yes, the motherboard was out and disconnected from all sources of power including CMON battery for a day. The proceeded again to assemble everything and still same issue.

Yeah google has a good few hits on this topic, on the reddit forums and Asus forums and by the looks of things this is an ASUS issue. no other motherboard has come up with this kind of issue.

Yep. Though you seem to have tried almost all the proffered solutions excepting downgrading your bios.

Best of luck.
