Bikers!?

So booked the Little Duke in at Raceworx this morning for its annual , lets hope my first experience with them is not a shit one .... had quite a long wait for my wive to come pick me up , and there was a pretty 990 on the floor that was def pulling my attention couldn't stop looking at the thing and i think it highly possible that a upgrade is on the horizon if i can twist my wives arm :D darn its a thing of beauty...
remember to properly check oil levels regularly, don't annual service and forget

@BlueCrayon I've met Dark Rider a few times :p
I owned a '22 765 rs, similar to the one is his older vid, for a few months, then upgraded to a late 2023 rs. Sitting on ~7000 km now.
Newer one started having intermittent quick/blipshift operation.. took bike in and it was swapped out under warranty. Otherwise no issues yet.

There's a lady in our Triumph group on a 675 that is pushing either 60 or 80k mileage.. I cant recall exactly. But both those figures are impressive. Biggest issue she's had (I think someone mentioned it before) is the Stator and/or Rectifier likes to die eventually. Usually causing hot start, or battery not charging issues.

Also worth noting that the Moto 2 Championship has been using the 765 engines from 2019 onwards.
Granted it's probably pimped to perfection and they simply just replace it if it bombs, but at least shows that the platform is proven.

So seems like annual service went well , kinda funny how i had a mate do a annual service on his bakkie yesterday dan that cost less then the service on the bike :D , dealership was amazing and they where very helpful and answered all my nagging questions. Hopefully this is how it will be in the future , @Sp00der_Spinatch will def still do regular checks on my own on fluids etc and not just leave it for annual service time , already in the habit of cleaning and checking everything after most rides and before ...so yeah ... not sure if its like this for everybody but why oh why after a service does everything always feel so new and as if it has more power :D when in reality its still the same 390 that was dropped off a day ago .... that being said that 990 sitting on the floor again had me like a magnet ... i promised my self no bigger bike until at least 2026 and now i am already looking for excuses.

The 2025 model cut the price by 40K, still with free tech pack. I'm kinda salty as it crapped on my resale, but ya know, it may be a win for you...

Guess it depends on the crapshoot with KTM, but for what it's worth I have 0 regrets about taking it over the 1390, MT-09, Speed/Street Triple and Streetfighter V2

Did the Hogsback Rallye Raid this weekend, recorded quite a lot on GoPro, but this was one of the spots we stopped at yesterday. The 3 of us stuck together for the two days. Guys bike on the far left I actually met through gaming, and have been friends for over 10 years now... crazy how things work out.

Sounds so lekka dude! It is crazy how these things happen, post the vid!

Hi everyone. I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but can anyone recommend me someone or some place where I can buy a second hand bike from. It will also have to be delivered as I live in the middle of nowhere. Thank you.

Biker gods of carbonite, I come before you once again. Last time I was here I mentioned I got myself a pair of gloves. For context, I’m about 169cm tall, 90kg. The issue I’m having is I’m finding my hands getting fatigued and sore from the gloves. They’re a size M. I tried on a couple before buying them, and found generally the large fits my fat hand better, but leaves space at the tip of my fingers, even more so by my thumb. Do I just need to wear them more? Or are they actually just too small for me, and I should just deal with the extra space at the tip of my fingers ? The guy helping me said that day said the extra space by the thumb would make it more difficult using the controls like the indicator etc. your guidance is appreciated.

I had the exact same issue, mediums fit in the shop but after being washed (shrunk slightly) and actually using them I found the stitching on the inside of the gloves by the finger tips would push into my finger tips and often between my finger and nails (which was uncomfortable and painful). I started using larges and they're substantially more comfortable, don't waste your time forcing the mediums to work. Get larges and use the mediums for backups on a rainy day.

Damn okay. So get a pair of large gloves and throw them in the washing machine?

Yeah look if they're very loose that might be an issue, in my case I fit a large well enough for them to not be loose. I know some guys who ride offroad and want to prevent blisters etc. ride with gloves (large in your case) and then fingerless cycling gloves underneath, this is to mostly prevent blisters but in your case can help create a tighter fit if the gloves are a bit too big for you.

Hmm I get what you’re saying, but with the bigger sizes, the glove gets “loose” at the tip of the fingers before they get too loose around the palm etc

Edit
To add, it’s weird coz I got told take the smaller size even if it’s tight since it will stretch ?

Depends what the glove is made of I guess. I usually get Fly offroad gloves as they're very durable, but they have almost zero stretch. Tighter gloves stop chaffing/blisters etc. but I mean unless you're riding really hard and for really long (there's a joke in there somewhere) I don't think it really matters. Of course if the gloves are too loose, that'll possibly create discomfort in other ways. Maybe try different brands and see if maybe mediums (or even large) in another brand fit better.

Just use them more , you'll get used to them as we all hated the fit of gloves at first.
I used to struggle with throttle and clutch control

Now it feels so natural

you rather use that condom if you don't want aids or children so be smart and condomise

^^^ This. For gloves if I wear Lookwell I'm a size Small. Alpinestars I have to wear an XL.

I wish i could take pictures like this!

i went on Saturday to take a picture of my bikes new colour and this dude just parks next to me and starts a 3 hour long conversation on why he hasn't purchased a motorcycle or the dangers of it.

I didn't care to bring wet wipes or a microfibre cloth to wipe the salty air residue off the lens rendering the whole trip a disaster.

Was the salty air caused by this dude's 3 hour long kak convo?

It was caused by a GSXR bro trying to convince an anti biker that its not all funerals and insurance claims.
Its also drag strips and the fastest bike out there.

You are a better man than me, i would not have engaged with him for 3 minutes, let alone 3 hours.
Love, a paramedic.
