Still deliberating as to whether I should use Kryonaut or Conductonaut... I have no issue doing technical things, having been an IT professional for 15 years. Just don't want any issues with warranty if Dell aren't happy that I've used Conductonaut, in case I go that route and need a warranty swap... Laptop is brand new and I'll extend the warranty to 2 or 3 years.
The G5s are user-serviceable, and as I understand it, there's no problem removing the heatsinks and replacing the thermal paste. Just don't want cosmetic deterioration which they may not approve of, especially if there's aluminium behind what I presume is copper... Thinking of erring on the side of caution and just going with Kryonaut. With an undervolt I should see a decent enough drop in temps.
But, I do like the best. There's so much contentious info online about Conductonaut – spilling when laptop's on its sides, high risk, having to replace it every 6 months, etc. I suspect some of these are BS...
Decisions, decisions.
