It is the way in which games are released these days.
I have no idea how many times we need to get burned before we learn. Games are not to be bought on release day. Wait a week or two. Actually add 2 months to every release day, then you should be sorted somewhat. Most importantly never ever, pre-order a game. We are in a digital distribution age, so game copies will not run out. It's not as if one has to wait for the next shipment of boxed copies.
1. We don't have demos anymore for some reason
2. Games are releasing with season passes asking you to commit to work that has yet to be completed
3. The work that has been completed isn't well, completed at all.
4. Even if you request a refund, day 1 sales figures have already been recorded so that gets counted as a successful release. Not all regions are able to get refunds so that isn't a viable options for all customers.
5. Again, do not pre-order games.
