Support Banned for being "sus"

Good Afternoon,

I was banned due to being "sus". Some clarity would be appreciated.

I see the ban is associated to Mrcs scamming someone on Carbonite. I'm not associated to him at all and my deal with him went smoothly. I met up with him in person, paid cash and got my item. No issues at all.

A pm was sent to me to vouch for said user, but I'm not on forum every single day and I didn't see the message.

I cannot understand how I get banned due to someone else scamming a user online. It baffles my mind.....

Can I kindly request to be unbanned, please?

Fix your procedures! I do not have the time to respond to messages regarding people and their questions about my previous deals. I met with MrCS as a f2f deal and it concluded with an ASUS TUF laptop. Please explain for 5 marks why am I banned ? Member for 12 years but you want to waste more of our time by banning us and expecting explanations about stuff that does not correlate to me.

Hi,

I noticed that I have been banned due to being "Sus".

I cannot for the life of me, understand that I would be banned for giving someone their first Itrader.
I see a couple of people has been scammed by Mrcs. My deal with him went perfectly smooth without any hassles.
I met up with him in person, paid him and got my laptop. I would be willing to supply POP, picture of said laptop - whatever it may be.

In the bad deal thread it is mentioned that I didn't reply to user PM's. Unfortunately I'm not on Carbonite all the time and I didn't see these PM's. I also didn't get any notifications via email that I received new PM's.

I am not associated with Mrcs at all and I have spent many years building a profile on Carbonite. I'm sure there is a lot of users on this website that would vouch for me.

Could I kindly request to be unbanned?

@Gumpertapolloss there's been some confusion and worry here, so let's be clear - your ban wasn't just a willy-nilly "lol let's make him angry" deal. We can lay all the cards on the table here, and tell a story.

Your account, this same one that's now unbanned, was hacked by our favourite hacking asshole back in 2021. It was banned in December of that year. How it was hacked, I don't know. How you regained control of the account, I don't know. All I know is that less than a month ago, you requested that account be unbanned. Viv did her dues and the account was unbanned. To this day I still don't know how it was hacked, and how he gained access to your account.

Then, your first deal back is with a scammer. Apparently a scammer in Durban, who you met face to face, even though your location suggests you're in Pretoria. IP data matches that, but it also hits Durban. Often. Back and forth, like a VPN, just like our scammer used.

Then, with the guy scamming a few people on Carbonite, you not responding, I didn't take a chance. I banned your account and decided I'll check in on it once your support thread comes. My literal words to the other admins were "I'll wait for his inevitable support thread."

And here it is. I'm still not 100% happy with your account, because questions remain, but I've unbanned it for now.

Let me start by saying thank you for the unban. I do hope we have no further issues in the future again.

For clarity on my IP - I moved to Umhlanga last year for work and I have been residing this side. Thus enabling me to meet said scammer in person. If I was still in Pretoria, I would have asked for him to send the item first and I'll pay afterwards.

I fully understand that there has been a history associated to my account and to date, I still don't know how my account got hacked. I'm grateful that Viv helped me to gain access and I will update all my security measurements to ensure that this doesn't happen again.
